Video: Wu-Tang Clan ft. Redman – People Say

Wednesday, October 4th, 2017

In Wu-Tang’s new video for “People Say”,  Method Man, Raekwon, Inspectah Deck, Masta Killa and Redman lay down their bars while a mysterious Wu branded box, reminiscent of the Pulp Fiction briefcase, gets passed around. Mathematics explained to Complex: “The concept of the video is based on a Wu box and inside the Wu box is the secret to Wu’s energy. It’s sacred but at the same time we want to share it so we give it out piece by piece. But there’s always someone who wants to take too much for their own selfish reasons.” Watch above and look for the new album The Saga Continues to arrive on October 13th.

Ev Boogie of UpNorthTrips links with mix masters Its Overture to cook up a 20th anniversary ode to Ghostface Killah’s debut solo album Ironman. The whole shit is dope, but keep your ears open for my favorite moment in the mix—a blend of RZA’s “Assassination Day” verse with the “Verbal Intercourse” instrumental.

“Ghostface is taking off the Helly Hansen outfit, and putting on a ninja suit”

Complex recently kicked off The 1996 Project, an in-depth look back at a crucial year in Hip-Hop’s transition from the Golden Era of the early 90’s to the billion dollar business we know it as now.
