Video: Tek & Steele Review Real Steel

Monday, October 10th, 2011

Smif-N-Wessun review Real Steele for Next Movie‘s “Rapper Reviews”.

Also, Hugh Jackman talks to Next Movie about attending one of Eminem’s Home & Home concert last year:

During the filming of “Real Steel” I heard that you and director Shawn Levy went to an Eminem concert. There’s an Eminem song in the movie, and played in the trailer for “Real Steel.” Can we assume that you two are big fans of his?
I think Eminem is extraordinary, and one of the greatest live acts I’ve ever seen. I’m a real fan of live music, but if I go to a concert and I feel that I’m just getting their CD, basically, played for me, it bores me. I would prefer to just listen to it. But he, Jay-Z, 50 Cent, Dr. Dre: It was one of the most electrifying nights I’ve ever been a part of. I was actually ushered to this area and I went behind the stage and just watching Dr. Dre get ready to go onstage, it was kind of like watching a prizefighter getting ready for a big fight. There’s just so much that they put in to every song. And Eminem, he’s just, oh my God, he’s just the consummate performer. A professional. And everything comes from an honest place. Comes from his heart. That’s what I like about him.

Video: Duck Down Records’ “Tribute to the Classics”

Monday, May 25th, 2009

“Tribute To The Classics” was an amazing event put on by Duck Down Records @ Southpaw in Brooklyn last night. Thanks to the host of the night, J-Hatch, I came through to check it out & was really a part of hip-hop history with this one. Marco Polo & Torae (with the help of E Holla) opened up performing cuts off their upcoming album, “Double Barrel,” followed by Black Moon & Smif-N-Wessun trading off joints from their debut albums, “Enta Da Stage” & “Da Shinin.” Da Beatminerz held it down, providing music all night with the help of Bazarro & as I said, J-Hatch hosting the night! There were guest verses from Sean Price, Craig G, Dru-Ha, Sadat X, OGC & more. They tore the place down & the sight of Tek & Steele rhyming on the bar just turnt the place out.

Follow DuckDown on Twitter. Props to DJ Sav*One for the footage.
