Video: Pharrell & Q-Tip Put Swizz Beats Up On Justice

Thursday, February 4th, 2010

Quiet as kept, Swizz Beats sampled Justice’ monster “D.A.N.C.E.” record for Jay-Z’s “On To The Next One” off Blueprint 3. If you don’t remember the words “on to the next one” being mentioned on the Justice song, it’s because Swizz chopped up the words “under the spotlight” and looped it for the chorus. Either way, in this video he says he was urged by Pharrell and Q-Tip to listen to Justice because they thought he could be the only producer to do them justice.

Video: Swizz Beats x Dame Dash @ DD172

Tuesday, January 26th, 2010

Swizz Beats stops by the DD172 complex to see his old buddy Dame Dash and talk about art, owning it as well as Swizzy’s own art. Just thumbing through his Twitpic account, he does seem to have some crazy Keith Harings, Basquiats and he mentioned something about Warhols in the interview. No shots, but all I could think of while he was trying to sound sophisticated about art was that Ruff Ryders bandana that was wrapped around his face in that nostalgia pic he threw up last week while he was working on “Stranded” with Jay. Speaking of which, Russell Simmons wants you to know that Swizz Beats is Haiti’s Unsung Hero.

Video: Powerade ION4 Ad Features “Who’s Real”

Sunday, September 6th, 2009

No raspy voice. Powerade’s new advert is to the tune of “Who’s Real.”

Ryan Howard, Shawne Merriman, Steve Smith, Carmelo Anthony and Joba Chamberlain, among other elite athletes, test their bodies with rigorous off-season workouts and replenish electrolytes with the complete sports drink in this new Powerade ION4 ad.

I like how these big companies can get every website to post their advertisements, which they pay TV stations a lot of money to play, just by using a rapper’s song. But I’m definitely not mad at Swizzy’s protégé Snagz for getting that check.
