Eminem’s Single Drops Thursday Morning

Tuesday, April 27th, 2010

angela-yee

Angela Yee just confirmed that Eminem will be debuting the first single from Recovery called “Not Afraid” on Shade45’s The Morning After show on Thursday, and Eminem’s manager Paul Rosenberg sealed the deal. Billboard also spoke to Paul and he said the song was produced by Boi-1da, not Jim Jonsin we previously reported.

She then tweeted that Eminem would also be on the air live with her.

Video: Just Blaze Combats Interviewers with Extreme Passive Aggressiveness

Tuesday, April 27th, 2010

Vibe caught up with Just while he was out on the left coast to ask him about some new Eminem album, but not before they asked him about their Greatest Producer of All Time bracket, to which he simply replied: “It’s cool. Vote for who you like.” As far as Recovery goes, he had this to say about the working process:

“I have a few more songs that I have to finish mixing,” Blaze said. “It’s a great experience working with him, he’s such a hands-on artist… Most artists come in and rap and the rest is up to you. It’s good to collaborate with someone on the other end of the spectrum.”

(or the interview as how he would put it:)

Hype Vibe reporter: so do you have any comments on the all time producer brackets and competition?!?! Me: No… HVR: well how about a message to the fans!? U know like “vote for mee!!!” Me: No…. *crickets* HVR: um yeah great!! Soo.. How was it working on thhe project with alchemist. That album u guys did.. What was it like. . Me: ??

Eminem’s First Single is Called “Not Afraid”

Monday, April 26th, 2010

not-afraid

The first single from Eminem’s Relapse 2 Recovery is called “Not Afraid” and is confirmed to be going to radio on Friday morning[1]. As we reported earlier, it’s produced by Jim Jonsin and I heard that it’s ridiculous.

[1] Unlike, of course, Under Pressure that Dr. Dre said was dropping “in the next two weeks,” three weeks ago now.

Eminem Renames “Relapse 2” to Recovery

Wednesday, April 14th, 2010

eminem

Last night, Eminem’s Twitter displayed a message saying that Relapse 2 was no more, presumably because of a name change. It made sense because at first Relapse 2 was going to be comprised of all the songs that were created at the same time as Relapse, but that didn’t end up on the first project. But then they went and threw all of those songs on The Refill. Now that (what was once) Relapse 2 has started to take the shape of a full body of work, they’ve decided a name-change will reflect that this is now a project that can stand on its own, but is still somehow linked to Em’s last album.

The first single is produced by Jim Jonsin, and as of right now, the album also has production by Just Blaze, Boi-1da and DJ Khalil.

Eminem’s Recovery drops June 22nd.
