Video: Sean Price ft. Prodigy & Styles P – The 3 Lyrical Ps

Friday, March 2nd, 2018

The late Sean Price, Prodigy and Styles P get expertly animated by Paperface in the new visual for “The 3 Lyrical Ps” off that Imperius Rex LP. This is pretty great as far as cartoon Rap videos go, but little flourishes like the Barnum & Bailey truck, Prodigy’s mural and the Yonkers dock sign push it over the top.

DJ Vanderslice honors the late H.N.I.C on what would have been his 43rd birthday by releasing “Hard Body Karate,” a collaboration with Conway and QB’s Big Twins recorded not long before P’s passing earlier this year for the producer’s upcoming album The Best Album Money Can Buy.

Havoc Speaks on Prodigy’s Passing

Thursday, June 22nd, 2017

Over the past couple of days there has been an immense outpouring of support and condolences for the family and friends of Mobb Deep’s Prodigy after his untimely passing earlier this week due to complications from sickle-cell anemia. Today we hear from P’s longtime partner and one of his closest friends, Havoc.

In a video statement he provided to TMZ, Hav explains how he first heard that P had been admitted to a Las Vegas hospital and the subsequent rumors of his passing, but didn’t think much of it because of the frequency of Prodigy’s hospital visits over the course of his life.

He eventually got the confirmation from their road manager after leaving his son’s graduation ceremony and nearly broke down while driving. Hav is understandably distraught after losing a friend and creative partner he’s known since they were 15 years old and says he’s having a hard time even listening to any Mobb music or looking at photographs of P.

Prodigy of Mobb Deep Has Passed Away

Tuesday, June 20th, 2017

Well folks, we lost a true legend today. Prodigy, original H.N.I.C and co-founder of Mobb Deep has reportedly passed away in Las Vegas at the age of 42. A rap icon since the release of Mobb Deep’s The Infamous, P is responsible for some of the illest verses ever committed to record during the height of New York City’s dominance in the mid-90’s and has influenced more MCs and fans than we could possibly imagine. Prodigy’s bars perfectly captured the essence of the city at its grimiest and will go down in history as some of the best gangster rap ever written, period. P’s cause of death has yet to be announced, but any fan of his knows he put up a valiant fight against sickle-cell anemia for most of his adult life. UPDATE: A statement from P’s publicist has been included below. Apparently, he had been dealing with severe complications from his illness over the last several days.

Prodigy & Rick Ross Discuss The Illuminati

Friday, May 12th, 2017

In this first episode of Mass Appeal’s new ‘Paranoid Activity’ series, Rick Ross sits down with Prodigy to discuss everybody’s favorite secret society: The Illuminati. Rozay says that he’s not a card-carrying member, but he would sign up in a minute and he’s proud of the rumors that he is a member of the powerful sect. I have to concur with him on those points because if they ever come calling for me, you are all getting curved. The pair also discuss whether or not he told Khaled about his Birdman diss on Rather You Than Me, settling his recent kidnapping case, investing in Wingstop and the meaning behind the Maybach Music name and logo. Finally, they close the conversation out by throwing a voodoo hex on all of us.
