Video: High Klassified ft. Mick Jenkins – Gold

Thursday, October 27th, 2016

Fool’s Gold producer High Klassified is back with another one, this one featuring Mick Jenkins, off of last year’s Kronostasis EP which is available for purchase here.

It’s literally a family affair as the video is directed by my little bro (!) Rachid Allaoua who I’ve known since he was a sperm and now he’s directing furry videos.

Also, don’t sleep on this Mick Jenkins remix of “Your Love” by Da-P who is part of the same collective of producers/beatmakers, as well as the Kaytranada-produced “Rain” which I’ve included after the jump.

Redbull also did a piece on Montreal’s Haitian-rooted beatmaker scene, read it here.

Video: Freddie Gibbs – Boxframe Cadillac (Live at Pitchfork’s SxSW Showcase)

Wednesday, April 7th, 2010

Says Freddie’s man A.Bonkers:

Since Freddie was the only hip hop act on the Pitchfork Showcase, the crowd was all alt rocker fans and the only full hip hoppers that were there, were all of the people on stage with us… Because of that, we wanted to send out some footage from the showcase to prove that it actually did occur… Here’s “Boxframe Cadillac” which closed out the show… Even in 35 degree weather, in an outside venue, Freddie’s adrenaline was pumping enough where he took off his shirt and didn’t die of pneumonia on the spot…
