In an interview with Rolling Stone magazine, T.I. says that this will be “the most significant return from incarceration that the game has had” since Tupac’s All Eyez On Me in 1996. He reveals that he didn’t get much alone time while in jail, but upon being released from the halfway house in January, recorded I’m Back the first day and went on to record 60 more songs since then. He’s working with Jim Jonsin, Danja and DJ Toomp.

“Some songs talk about my time in prison — how I was affected by that, the way I’ve grown from that, things I see now that I may have not seen then,” says T.I. “Sometimes I talk about love, some songs I talk about life, some songs I talk about me being the shit on every level.

He also talks about this album being the final chapter in the trilogy that began with the 2007 release of T.I. vs. T.I.P., after the death of his friend Philant Johnson, the “schizophrenia” which led to the weapons charges that inspired 2008’s Paper Trail, and now this, King Uncaged.
