Video: Snoop Dogg – Super Crip (Prod. by Just Blaze)

Friday, March 17th, 2017

Snoop Dogg found himself embroiled in a literal beef with the fake POTUS this week after the bloated orange bag of burnt steak and racism fixed his tiny fingers to send out a tweet about Snoop’s ‘nontroversial’ video for “Lavender” with BadBadNotGood. Yes, this is real life. In any event, Snoop is back today with a new animated video for the Just Blaze-produced “Super Crip”, off his last album CoolAid.

Listen to an Unreleased Nas, Jay Z, Jadakiss and DMX Song

Saturday, February 25th, 2017

So last night, Swizz Beatz and Just Blaze took to Instagram Live for a 3-hour long “battle of the beats” which had them facing off with some of their respective classics and a bunch of unreleased music. One of the highlights that has gotten the most attention, for obvious reasons, was an unreleased track from Nas, Jay Z, Jadakiss and DMX that Swizz played. The audio from the live stream wasn’t the best, but you can certainly get the gist of the record. While some of the lyrical references sound a bit dated (bath salts, zombies, etc) this shit sounds like a banger.

Joe Budden in the Studio with Just Blaze & araabMUZIK

Friday, May 20th, 2016

Earlier this week I saw some folks on Twitter raving about some beats Joe Budden and araabMUZIK were playing on a live stream from a recent studio session. I didn’t come across any rips, but Joe posted this clip to Instagram last night that shows him, AM and Just Blaze nodding their heads to what sounds like a banger.

Listen to Just Blaze’s Abstract Radio Set

Saturday, December 12th, 2015

Last night on Beats 1 Radio, Just Blaze took over Q-Tip’s Abstract Radio show and spun a set that included a bunch of the unreleased tracks he teased on Instagram the other night. In addition to a full version of that Black Album edition of Jay Z’s “Early This Morning,” the Robert Glasper version of Kanye’s “Touch The Sky,” and the full Dipset version of “I Really Mean It,” Just also played a version of Joe Budden’s “Pump It Up” with Busta Rhymes. He also ran through some Usher, Rick Ross and Rico Love exclusives.

Here’s a Snippet of an Alternate Version of Jay Z’s “Early This Morning”

Wednesday, December 9th, 2015

Lurking Just Blaze’s social media accounts late night can often pay Rap nerd dividends. Last night, he took to Twitter and Instagram to liberate a few snips of unreleased versions of some well known tracks from his archives. You already know Just likes to abuse us, so he has since deleted previews of an unreleased version of Kanye’s “Touch the Sky” featuring Robert Glasper and a version of “I Really Mean It” that featured all of Dipset. He also shared some interesting background on Freeway’s “Flipside” and T.I.’s “Live Your Life” and how it is connected to Eminem’s “Cold Wind Blows.”

Below, check out a snippet of a previously unheard version of Jay Z’s “Early This Morning” that was apparently intended for The Black Album. The main difference I hear is that drums are waaaay crazier on the chorus.

Just Blaze x Run The Jewels – Meow The Drums (Drum Kit)

Tuesday, November 17th, 2015

As if his groundbreaking, feline themed remix of “Oh My Darling Don’t Cry” wasn’t enough, Just Blaze has teamed up with Killer Mike and El-P to make his collection of early 2000’s drums available for free download. Check out a statement from Just on the kit and continue below to download Meow The Drums.

“Thanks to all who contributed to making Meow The Jewels a success. For the uninitiated, I promised to contribute a remix to the project if it was funded, and as an added bonus a good amount of the signature drums I used on many records in the early half of the 2000’s. Please note these are the raw, relatively unprocessed files straight out of my MPC (hence the delay in tracking them down and getting them to you guys). That said, in most cases, you’re not going to instantly press a pad and be like ‘OMG, IT’S THE SUCH AND SUCH SNARE!’ (though that will happen in a few cases). I used a lot of layering, compression, and EQ / Mix techniques to get these things to sound like the drums many of you knew and loved. Enjoy this starting point, and happy drumming! P.S. This is just the beginning. Stay tuned to for much more!!”
