The Diplomats – Once Upon a Time

Whose to say if Cam and Jimmy are getting along at any given time? Had you asked me the status of the Dips prior to today I would’ve said Killa and Capo weren’t on speaking terms at the moment, and that may still be the case. Yet, here’s a new Diplomats record featuring both of them and Juelz Santana.

Stream the Heatmakerz-produced “Once Upon A Time” below.

Jim Jones Signs with Roc Nation

Wednesday, February 8th, 2017

After several fairly obvious teases on social media, the news many were expecting has been confirmed: Jim Jones has signed a deal with Roc Nation. It’s unclear whether or not the Dipset co-founder has signed as an artist to the label/management firm, but if I was going to guess, I’d say it’s probably one of those management deals that the company has been aggressively pursuing with artists over the last couple of years. With this agreement, Capo becomes the most recent artist, including Fat Joe and The LOX, to put aside very public, though long dead, beefs with Jay Z to get money with the Roc boss. I guess, at the end of the day, it’s paper over everything. Did you ever think you would see the day?

UPDATED: Yep, it’s a management deal. Jim offered the following statement to Billboard:

“As you get older you realize that most of your peers are either dead or in jail,” Jones said in a quote provided to Billboard. “The fact that we can move past the BS is a testimony [to] how much we have grown.”

Watch Cam’ron, Juelz Santana & Jim Jones Freestyle for Westwood (2003)

Thursday, January 26th, 2017

Oh yeah, this is the stuff right here Timothy. For this week’s Throwback Thursday, Westwood liberates some very rare footage of Cam’ron, Juelz Santana and Jim Jones freestyling on a special Harlem edition of his show back in 2003. You’ve definitely heard most of these verses but it’s still a classic session from the Dips at the height of their power.
