J.A.M.E.S. Watts – Prom Queen (The Re-Fix) + People Feel Better

As promised, I have returned this week with two new releases fresh out of The Kitchen. After a week of holding back material, I figured it’d be best to drop something off this week that was a little different, something that was special; in that spirit, I decided to re-fix Lil Wayne’s “Prom Queen”, one of the most polarizing songs of the last year — no middle ground, you either loved it or you hated it (I, for one, enjoyed it).

Nonetheless, I took the debut rock song from Baby’s son and furthered its concept by exploring the struggle of a young man seeking the affections of a girl who is far out of his reach. No need for further explanation, just take a listen — this may be J.A.M.E.S. like you have never heard me before.

Also, in lieu of my absence last week, I am throwing in a bonus demo mp3 for my listeners; tentatively titled “People Feel Better”, this was just a little something I came up with during a late night writing session. Dusty sample x no real mixing + heartfelt lyrics = my essence.

Fresh for the top of the week, I bring forth yet another Re-Fix! This time I snatched up Soulja Boy’s “Turn My Swag On” instrumental for inspiration — while the young hitmaker elected to broadcast his epic tales of stunting to the world, I chose to instead provide a cautionary tale about the evils that can surround you when paper isn’t an issue. We’re taught to think that ‘mo money = no problems, but perhaps B.I.G. was right….

Directed by Rik Cordero:

Three/21 Films, Jooks The World and The Ish Productions proudly present the “You’re My Life” music video featuring Jersey’s own J.A.M.E.S. Watts and Frank G. The video previews a few choice clips from our upcoming film “Inside A Change” as J.A.M.E.S. creates poetic dialogue between our lead characters, Chris Price (Ephraim Benton) and his mother, Lynn Rhodes (Karen Chilton). The concept is a simple performance setting but study the video closely and you will see that J.A.M.E.S and Frank really go through the EMOTIONS and not just the motions. Enjoy!
