A$AP Mob – Cuffin Season (Mix)

Tuesday, February 14th, 2017

Them A$AP boys get in on the Valentine’s Day mix game with their new Cuffin Season tape. This one features a far more commercial line-up than Hud Mo’s offering, including such R&B/Rap classics as J.Lo and Ja Rule’s “I’m Real”, Diddy and Usher’s “I Need A Girl” and Fabolous and Lil Mo’s “Can’t Let You Go”, among many other classics you’ll immediately recognize. This shit is actually bringing me back right now, I wouldn’t mind a download link.

In this teaser clip for CNBC’s upcoming special White Collar Convicts: Life On The Inside, Ja Rule speaks on serving time in Mid-State prison with disgraced former Tyco CEO Dennis Kozlowski. He talks about being targeted by other inmates because of his notoreity and explains how the former executive would exchange gifts to guards for favorable treatment. At Least One Unreleased Jay-Z, DMX & Ja-Rule Song Exists

Monday, October 20th, 2014

Speaking to Rob Markman for MTV News at last week’s Def Jam 30th anniversary show in Brooklyn, Ja Rule spoke on one of the most legendary false starts in modern Rap history: the trio of himself, Jay-Z and DMX under the Murder Inc moniker. In June 1999, the three MCs graced the cover of XXL magazine in what turned out to be a cruel tease for unwitting Hip-Hop fans as the group would eventually fall apart before it ever had a chance to get started. This was going to be Rap’s most visible supergroup to date, with each of the three principals at (or nearing) the peaks of their respective careers. I distinctly remember wondering why in the world X and Jay want to be in a group with Ja Rule of all people, but that’s neither here nor there.

Of course it never happened, and all three of these guys ended up on vastly divergent roads in the decade that followed. Even though we never got a proper Murder Inc album from Jay, X and Rule, we did get a couple of tracks: “Mudergram” and “It’s Murda”, both of which stand as underground classics and fine examples of what could have been. But it appears that may not be the end of the story. At the end of the video clip above, Rob asks Ja if there is any unreleased music from the trio that may be stashed away somewhere. His reply? “I think there might be one or two joints that are still out there that ya’ll haven’t heard”. Hold up, what?! Somebody (I’m looking at you Irv) needs to come up off that shit post haste.

In related news, Jay-Z Recorded a Verse for Kanye’s “Guilt Trip”.

Video: Ja Rule on Ebro in the Morning

Monday, July 7th, 2014

Ja Rule joins the Hot 97 morning crew on Ebro in the Morning and recounts the infamous fight between him, his crew and 50 Cent in Atlanta back before the rise of G-Unit. As he’s said in the past, he believes 100% that he won that fight and that the only reason people believe 50’s version of the story is because he’s physically bigger and more intimidating than Ja. He also plugs his new book Unruly, talks about his new music and much more. The 50 story begins about 4 and a half minutes in.
