Video: DJ Khaled Says Jay-Z Made Him Cry

Wednesday, June 10th, 2009

Khaled was recently humbled by rap giant Jay-Z, when Hov shouted Khaled on the song “D.O.A.” The mouthy DJ says he was stunned and left speechless by Jay’s co-sign.

“To get a co-sign from a legend like that is big. He said my name, he said, ‘We the best!’ It brought a tear to my eye,” Khaled said.

Why does it feel like Jay only said that to make things right after ThisisCurtis/DJ Kay Slay benefitted from leaking that old Fat Joe/DJ Khaled diss track. As in he either said that to stay cool with him in case there’s any tension, or maybe even get Khaled Khaled’s support for Blueprint 3.

Video: J. Cole Interview w/ iHipHop

J. Cole talks Jay-Z, Roc Nation & The Warm Up.

So I got to chop it up Fayettville, North Carolina native and NYC transplant, J. Cole. Jay-Z recently signed J. Cole himself to Roc Nation which is obviously a huge co-sign. I think the initial response by the hip-hop community was, who is J. Cole? A question I was sure to ask him. Personally I see a lot of potential in J’s abilities. It’s no gimmicks, and he just comes with intelligent lyrics that are very relatable. He has a mixtape dropping next Monday called, The Warm Up, in which he produced the majority of. I’m officially instructing you to take notice of the kid, because I see him doing big things in the near future. Also be sure to check out two tracks by him below.

Jay-Z – D.O.A. (Death of Autotune) [CDQ]

Saturday, June 6th, 2009

Not sure about what you might have seen floating around since last night, but I can assure you that this was not ripped from the radio. Of course I can’t vouch for the claims of others, but on this version – Jay-Z says DJ Clue’s name. 48 hours don’t apply.

Jay-Z – D.O.A. (Death of Autotune) (Produced by No I.D.) | Sharebee

The song wasn’t custom made for Flex & Cee like they were trying to make you to think (no shots guys), it was made for whoever plays Jay’s records and Flex even said that other stations might be shook and cut their names from it – what part of the game is that?

Props to Splash. Related: No ID the Sole Producer of “D.O.A.”

Applaud Cee for bringing out the Rocawear for the event.

For the record, I respect the shit outta Mister Cee, and I heard what Flex said about bloggers… it’s all good, either way he obviously had bigger fish to fry last night.

Hit the jump for footage of Jay calling in… from a fucking restaurant.
