Brother Ali – All the Beauty in This Whole Life (Album Stream)

Thursday, May 4th, 2017

Brother Ali is back with his first new album in 5 years, the much needed All the Beauty in This Whole Life. Even that title is refreshing. The 15-track project features appearances from Amir Sulaiman, Sa-Roc, deM AtlaS, and Idris Philips, and it was produced entirely by Anthony “Ant” Davis of Atmosphere.

Here’s Ali on the title and theme of the project:

“This entire album is based on the reality that beauty is the splendor of truth” says the Minneapolis MC. “Beauty in all of its forms is the outward manifestation of love and virtue. It soothes the soul and pulls it gently toward the truth it communicates. Every word and note of this album is intended to either reflect beauty, or expose the ugliness that blocks us from living lives of meaning.”

Brother Ali on Sway In The Morning

Thursday, March 30th, 2017

With his new album All The Beauty in This Whole Life slated for a May 5th release, Brother Ali swung by Sway in The Morning to speak on several notable topics and the new project. Ali speaks on his experiences as a Muslim American since the election of he who’s name we shall not speak, including having his e-mail monitored and incidents of racism at his wife’s school. After breaking down some of the bars from his lead single “Own Light (What Hearts Are For)”, and telling the insane story of his trip to Iran, he performs a track from the album called “Uncle Usi Taught Me” which addresses the events of that trip as well.

After surfacing yesterday to put “Pen To Paper”, Brother Ali reveals his next project: the new album All the Beauty in This Whole Life. He says the LP, his first new release since Mourning in America and Dreaming in Color five years ago, is “completely about beauty and love and the truth that’s communicated when hearts are connected”. The lead single, “Own Light (What Hearts Are Made For)”, is a reflection of that, with Ali catching us up on his progression and defiantly resisting those who’ve “been trying to shut us down our whole life”. The album was produced entirely by ANT and will be out May 5th.

To celebrate the start of the “Home Away From Home” tour, Brother Ali, Bambu and MaLLy join forces for this collaboration.

“We’re very excited and grateful to be headed out on our Home Away From Home Tour with Bambu, MaLLy and Last Word. Anyone who’s experienced my headlining tours knows that I like to have one DJ and one host for the entire evening and I choose my support artists very carefully. If you’re not up on any of our tour family’s music, please check them out so you’ll know how to appreciate them when we’re in your town. I also like to make a tour theme song with everyone in the crew to celebrate rolling out together. Please enjoy this track and we welcome your well wishes for safe travels and security for our loved one’s while we’re away.

Love Always and See You Soon!”

Brother Ali & Jake One – Left In The Deck (Album Stream)

Thursday, September 5th, 2013

As we embark on the War And Peace Tour with my brother, Immortal Technique, I’m excited to release a new musical project. “Left In The Deck” is a collection of 10 raw, grimy recordings made in basements and hotel rooms around the world. This demo-tape style release was produced entirely by Jake One. It hasn’t been polished up for the market or cleaned for the radio. These songs were left in their original demo form and are intended only for my family of direct supporters. The beats are grimy and I feel like this is some of the best rhyming I’ve ever captured on tape. I want to release this directly to you.

Starting tomorrow at 12pm CST you can stream the entire album for FREE, but for all those kind enough to buy any Brother Ali shirt on the War And Peace Tour this fall, you’ll also receive a digital download card of the album with your purchase. If the tour isn’t coming to your city or you don’t want to wait, don’t worry you can get the music immediately when you pre-order the “Cassette” shirt from Fifth Element.
