DJ Khaled ft. Jay-Z, Future & Beyonce – Top Off

Friday, March 2nd, 2018

DJ Khaled unleashes “Top Off,” the First Big Single from his just-announced next album, Father of Asahd. The song features Jay-Z, Future and Beyonce and is notable because it’s Jay and Bey’s second collab with Asahd’s pops, plus you may recall Jay and Future trading sublims and IG shade back when 4:44 dropped. Jay’s verse was obviously recorded very recently as he references that 100K bar bill that was in the news a week or two ago.

Your 2017 Grammys Winners

Sunday, February 12th, 2017

If questionably distributed statues awarded to artists in mind-bogglingly random nomination groups are your thing, well then tonight is your night. As much as I deride the Grammys for being perpetually out of touch and often historically wrong, every now and then do actually get some shit right. As you know, they care very little about most of the Rap categories and so they give the majority of those awards out before the ceremony even starts. That’s how we know that Chance The Rapper, 2 Chainz and Lil Wayne have already won for Best Rap Performance for “No Problems”.

Continue below for a list of winners which we’ll be updating, along with any relevant performance footage as the night progresses.

Beyonce, Drake, Rihanna & Kanye Lead the 2016 Grammy Nominations

Tuesday, December 6th, 2016

This morning The Recording Academy released the nominations for the 2016 Grammy Awards and Beyonce leads the field with 9 nominations while the other three find themselves in three-way tie for second with 8 each. You can peruse the full list of noms here, but let’s take a look at some of the more notable nods and those most relevant to Rap fans. First of all, although Kanye, Drake and Rihanna are right on her heals, Bey sets herself apart with consistent nods across such important categories as Record of The Year, Song of the Year and Album of The Year. Drake joins her in the Album of the Year category for Views and he also pops up in Record of The Year, although it’s for his guest appearance on Rihanna’s “Work” rather that one of his own songs. It should come as no surprise that Chance The Rapper did really well in the Rap categories, landing noms in Best Rap Performance, Best Rap Song, Best Rap/Sung Collaboration and Best Rap Album for Coloring Book.
