Monday, December 6th, 2010

Fresh off their release with the Hieroglyphics, Akomplice got together with Masta Killa of the Wu-Tang Clan to put out this limited edition “The Pen Is Mightier Than The Sword” t-shirt and accompanying pen:

Akomplice is proud to announce the release of “The Pen Is Mightier Than The Sword” collaborative endeavor with Masta Killa of the legendary Wu-Tang Clan. A follow up to their first Wu Project with Raekwon, this next-level piece emphasizes non-violence and the power our words can wield. From Charlamagne’s quill that composed the Magna Carta to Thomas Jefferson’s Declaration of Independence, there is no denying the everlasting impact of the pen to paper. A perfect example of the inherent truth behind the saying “The Pen Is Mightier Than The Sword,” Masta Killa has traveled the globe and made a living demonstrating the strength of the written word. The collaboration includes both a t-shirt and a pen, and will be a limited one-time release, available worldwide at many fine Akomplice retailers. Be sure to check out Masta Killa’s “Things Just Ain’t The Same,” the first single off the upcoming album “Loyalty is Royalty,” releasing early next year. Click here to purchase the single on iTunes.

The shirt comes in four separate colorways (see below).

Akomplice x Hieroglyphics

Thursday, November 11th, 2010

Akomplice has teamed up with the Hieroglyphics to create this Hooded Varsity jacket that comes with an exclusive song Hiero made for the project. Grab the song below, via their website. Akomplice also hosted an in-store signing, live performance and club afterparty last week, pics and videos here.

Akomplice has come together with the legendary Hieroglyphics crew to create a truly unique collaboration, in which both parties do what they do best. Akomplice has taken their very popular Hooded Varsity silhouette and created a new version that bears both the Akomplice and Hiero logos (Hiero’s logo was voted the third most recognizable logo in music by Rolling Stone magazine). Then Hieroglyphics took it to another level by creating an original track, especially for the project, that will come with the Hooded Varsity jacket. Akomplice and Hiero have been mutual fans of each other for several years now, and it was just a matter of time before both parties came together and created a next-level piece. This collaborative effort will only be available at Hieroglyphic’s online store and Akomplice’s online store.

Also be on the look out for Hieroglyphics members solo releases: Pep Love “Rigamarole”, Opio “Vulture’s Wisdom Vol 2”, Casual “He Still Think He Raw”, Phesto “Background Check”.
