Ab-Soul Interview with Montreality

Wednesday, June 7th, 2017

Ab-Soul recently (I believe, that doesn’t look like a Summer hat he’s wearing) sat with Montreality for one of their always fascinating and far-ranging interviews. He was asked about a number of topics but perhaps most notably he spoke on if and when he’ll be dropping Longterm 3 and/or Control System 2, the follow-ups to his mixtape series and sophomore album, respectively. He also spoke on Kendrick Lamar’s artistic intentions with regard to the DAMN album, what would need to happen for a Black Hippy project to happen, his relationship with Beast Coast collective artists such as Joey Bada$$ and Flatbush Zombies, and more.

I don’t know about you, but this is one of the projects that was extremely high on my wish list. Ab’s been working on this for a minute and despite the delays and back and forth with Top Dawg, he manages to get it out before we close the book on 2016. I have yet to hear anything outside of the few leaks he gave us, but I have high hopes for this on the strength of those very tracks. The TDE dynasty continues.
