RAST – Song For Chicago (Safe Tonight)

November 24th, 2015

RAST is no stranger to gang violence and the misery it perpetuates among hopeless youth in hoods across America. But he’ll also tell you that the kids he grew up banging with are some of his closest brothers and his greatest support system to this day. Once you make the decision (or once it’s made for you) to go all in with that life, you know you’re putting yourself and those around you in the line of fire. But this shit right here goes against every g-code I’ve ever learned. On “SOng For Chicago” RAST dedicates one to the birthplace of gangs, the city of Chicago.

Goodbye Tomorrow – eXplosions

November 24th, 2015

Goodbye Tomorrow share the follow up to their last release, “2 MANY,” with “eXplosions:

“”eXplosions is kind of like that same frustration level as 2 MANY…but refocused into a different frequency. The end of ’2 MANY’ says “fuck you, your perspective is irrelevant, you’ll never take me out my element,” and this is that attitude but refined. It’s less outward and more inward, more about immediacy. Still mad as fuck but more audacious.”

The mysterious Chicago collective will make their live debut with three upcoming shows in Los Angeles, New York and and Chicago throughout December, more info and tickets available here. Stream the debut album, A Journey Through the Mind of a Non Believer, here.

Young Troy of the Frap Boyz drops the video for his banger off the Frap City EP. This is probably the second track I heard from them that caught my ear after “Cocaine”. Directed by Samuel Olaechea.

High Snobiety recently profiled a t-shirt launch they were involved in at men’s boutique CNTRBND in Toronto. Watch that after the jump.
