Video: RZA’s Parks And Recreation Screen Test

April 18th, 2014

This is just a theory, but I think if you surveyed fans of NBC’s Parks And Recreation, it’s likely that you’d find that a pretty high percentage are also fans of the Wu-Tang Clan. In this new Funny or Die clip starring co-starring ?uestlove, we get to see The RZA’s long lost screen test for the role of Leslie Knope. He nails his scene with Rashida Jones, but a producer is concerned that the 6-foot tall Staten Island native won’t be able to pull off the role of a middle-aged white lady from a small town in Indiana. At the end, Amy Poehler shows up and wins the entire sketch.

Words by Daniel Isenberg (@StanIpcus)

Tomorrow is the official 20th anniversary of Nas’ five mic classic debut album Illmatic. For the past week or so, there’s been a flurry of Illmatic retrospectives dropping, special live performances of the album, and even a remastered release of the LP. Here at NahRight, we admit that we can’t get enough of the NAStalgia. So to add to it, we put together a collection of Nas’ official video releases from his debut, and a couple bonus clips from the era too, for our latest Video Vault. Always nice to have everything in one place, right? Enjoy the visual trip down memory lane.

Video: At Home With A-Trak

April 17th, 2014

The track playing in the background is the Low Pros (A-Trak & Lex Luger) ft. Juvenile that we premiered last month, right here.

Today we’re releasing an interview with A-Trak, filmed from his home in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. In the midst of his touring schedule and yesterday’s release of his DJ duo Duck Sauce’s debut album, “Quack”, the DJ/Producer/Record Label Owner showed us around his pad, giving a behind-the-scenes tour of his at-home studio, his equipment, and how he spends his downtime.

Make sure you support the homie A-Trak’s Quack album with legendary DJ Armand Van Helden under their Duck Sauce moniker here. It’s sure to be a good one.

Or stream the album in its entirety after the jump.

Cam’ron Covers Mass Appeal

April 17th, 2014

Killa Fuckin’ Cam covers issue #54 of Mass Appeal. During the cover Q&A with Sacha Jenkins, Cam talks about the new music and film projects he has on the horizon, his cape line, the possibility of him ever doing a reality show and how he manages to remain relevant with minimal effort.

The most interesting takeaway from the story for me though was when he revealed that at one point Crayola hollered at him about doing a “Cam’ron Pink” crayon. Unfortunately for the children of America, the deal fell through.

Continue below to check out some footage from Cam’s cover shoot (complete with a Dame Dash cameo, naturally) and pick up the new issue of Mass Appeal on newsstands now.
