Video: Watch Weekend At Bernie’s While Listening to w/ Curren$y’s Weekend At Burnie’s

Tuesday, June 21st, 2011

As promised, for the next 24 hours you can watch the above stream of the classic 1980′s film Weekend At Bernie’s synched up with Spitta’s Weekend At Burnie’s LP. It’s not a true Dark Side of The Rainbow type-sync because it’s not the whole movie, but it does the trick and it’s a creative twist on the full album preview stream.

Video: The Miguel Atwood-Ferguson Ensemble ft. Aloe Blacc – Deliver the Word (Guru Tribute)

Friday, September 24th, 2010

The Miguel Atwood-Ferguson Ensemble (who has covered J. Dilla in the past,) along with Aloe Blacc, pay homage to Guru:

Here’s the final and 3rd video from the recent free event by The Miguel Atwood-Ferguson Ensemble in Los Angeles, CA. Hopefully by now, you’ve checked the previous two videos, one featuring Bilal, and the other featuring Flying Lotus. Backed by some of today’s best musicians, including Chris ‘Daddy’ Dave on drums and Stephen ‘Thundercat’ Bruner on bass, The Miguel Atwood-Ferguson Ensemble’s performance was truly as special moment for Los Angeles.

This final video features Aloe Blacc. Together, Miguel and Aloe pay homage and tribute to Gang Starr MC Keith ‘Guru’ Elam, doing an arrangement of Gang Starr’s “Betrayal,” which initially featured Scarface.
