During an interview at Hot 97 with Ebro, Rosenberg and Laura Stylez, Wiz revealed that he has recruited Nas for the official “We Dem Boyz Remix” (skip to the 15:00 mark). Last night on Instagram, he posted a short clip of Nas sitting in the studio listening to the new version. Check that out below.

The illustrious Mannie Fresh recently sat down with Ali Shaheed Muhammad and Frannie Kelly at NPR headquarters in D.C. for the first ever live episode of the Microphone Check podcast. Mannie’s interviews are always interesting and enlightening but the headline here is the new collaboration with Yasiin Bey that he previews, in full, at around 36 and a half minutes in. The track is called “Let’s Go”, and it bumps. If you’re pressed for time you can jump to about the 32 minute mark, where Mannie speaks on his working relationship with Mos and the song itself which he says they just finished the other day.
After the interview was over, Mannie hit the turntables and spun and impromptu set of bounce remixes of tracks like Earth Wind and Fire’s “September”, Michael Jackson’s “Billie Jean” and Kanye’s “Good Life”.

Zach O’Malley Greenburg be out in Marrakesh smoking hashish with his fellowship. The Forbes writer recently traveled to Morocco to meet with producer Tarik “Cilvaringz” Azzougarh about the much discussed single copy Wu-Tang album Once Upon A Time in Shaolin. During the meeting, Cilvaringz gave him a quick 51 second preview of a track featuring Ghostface Killah and somebody who sounds an awful lot like Cher.
UPDATED: Rolling Stone confirms that it is in fact Cher.
A representative for Cher declined to make the singer available for comment, but confirmed the collaboration to Rolling Stone. “She recorded her parts separately, so I don’t believe there was direct interaction,” said the rep.

Here’s the first 5 minutes or so of Our Vinyl Weighs a Ton, a new documentary on independent label Stones Throw that was featured at SXSW this past week. The doc looks at the legacy of the small niche label founded 18 years ago by Peanut Butter Wolf and includes commentary from A-Trak, ?uestlove, MF DOOM, Madlib, Kanye West, Common and many others.
