Man, I haven’t stopped playing that SBTRKT/Raury since it dropped the other day.
On this particular collaboration:
this track was started in London (with an idea i recorded on an upright piano) – took this to Los Angeles (set up at Fleas the Boat studio in Silver Lake) collaborating further with Stella (drums) & Emily (vocals) from Warpaint – took this back to london to work more arrangement ideas to it and finally a couple months later took that to New York (Downtown – The Roots were in the studio next door!) and collaborated with Ferg (out to our friend Callender for connecting us)
this is one of my fave tracks and seemed to be a fitting ending to the record too.
this started with me having a seed idea but seeing it grow way beyond that with these multi layers of collaboration and places. shout to ferg, stella and emily for their input!
Off SBTRKT’s Wonder Where We Land, dropping September 22nd. Cop it here.

Last year, producer Shlohmo remixed one of Jeremih’s tracks (“Fuck You All The Time”), then our friends at yourstruly put them in a studio together and they made one of my favorite tracks of 2013, “Bo Peep”. Late last year, they announced they were working on an EP together.
This is the first leak.

We’re only a few days into February, and already some major rap collaborations have been released, giving us faith that 2014 has the potential to follow-up 2013’s epicness with even more fiyah. It’s always exciting to hear two of hip-hop’s top shottas on one track rapping together, and so far, ‘14 has laced us with a handful of gems in this category, including a joint with Fat Joe and 50 Cent (yes, you read that correctly). Check out The Top 5 Rap Duets of 2014 (So Far), all released since the ball dropped (sorry “The Devil is a Lie”), listed in alphabetical order below.
