As previously reported, Kanye is set to be shooting a short film somewhere in the Gulf region. Kanye and G.O.O.D. Music took over the ceremonial court in Education City (Doha, Qatar) earlier this week:

Part of the reason for the excitement? The story—plot details of which were not divulged by one source “out of respect for Kanye’s ambition”—was conceived by the rapper explicitly to take place in the Gulf. He is said to have fallen in love with the region after a concert performance last year in Abu Dhabi.

In honor of the Beastie Boys being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Mick Boogie links up with Jon Mannion in the L.E.S. to re-shoot the iconic “Paul’s Boutique” cover some 20 years later for his mixtape Grand Royal, named after the Beastie Boys’ record label founded in 1992.

Cons records a verse for an upcoming collaborative track in support of Reading Is Fundamental’s “Book People Unite” campaign.

Some of America’s favorite musicians and book lovers created a song to encourage other Book People to join the cause. The track was produced by The Roots with vocal support from Jack Black, Chris Martin, John Legend, Jim James, Jason Schwartzman, Nate Ruess, Melanie Fiona, Carrie Brownstein, Regina Spektor and Consequence.
