Video: Rhythm Roulette with Just Blaze

Thursday, September 10th, 2015

Here’s footage from the special live edition of Rhythm Roulette with Just Blaze at the Sprite Corner in New York. As I mentioned previously, he did this on the day Sean Price passed and before he went in he tweeted that he was gonna try and make something P would fuck with. I feel like this joint would fit nicely alongside the stuff 9th Wonder did for Monkey Barz. This man is a beast!

Video: Rhythm Roulette with Exile

Thursday, September 3rd, 2015

Dirty Scientist and MPC whisperer Exile takes part in another special live edition of Mass Appeal’s “Rhythm Roulette” series at the Sprite Corner in NYC. I feel like he really lucked out with those records he picked because the samples he ends up usingare so suited to what he does. He even tosses a Fashawn sample in there for good measure.

Episodes with Just Blaze and Georgia Anne Muldrow are upcoming.

Video: Rhythm Roulette with Mannie Fresh

Friday, August 28th, 2015

The legendary Mannie Fresh participates in a special live edition of Mass Appeal’s ‘Rhythm Roulette’ challenge. In case  you’re not familiar the way it works is, the producer selects three pieces of vinyl at random and then has to create an original beat using whatever usable samples they may come across. This clip in particular is a testament to Mannie’s skills because I had no idea where he was going when he selected that loop.

Just Blaze recently recorded one of these on the day Sean Price passed, and he said he was going to make something that he thought P would fuck with, so that should be interesting.
