no-id

Although Kanye was visibly missing from The Grammy’s last night, his mentor was there to put on for their city. Among all the fuckery I’ve read online today, the one thing I didn’t see was the legendary No I.D. getting the recognition he deserved for the work he put in this year. He not only took home a statue for his production on “D.O.A. (Death of Auto-Tune),” but two more as well for the co-production of “Run This Town.” The world is anxious to see what he’s capable of doing in 2010.

Hit the jump to see Common discussing working with Kanye West, Twilight Tone as well as No I.D. on his next project, The Believer.

Rik Cordero’s Inside A Change Wins Best Picture Award 2009 at the HBO Latino Film Festival

Monday, August 3rd, 2009

iac-premiere

A big congratulations is in order to a friend of the site, Rik Cordero & Three/21 Media, for bringing home the Top Prize at the HBO NYILFF:

Rik Cordero’s coming of age drama Inside A Change won the 10th HBO New York International Latino Film Festival’s (NYILFF) Best Picture Award as the event drew to a close over the weekend. Lead Actor, Ephraim Benton, who accepted on behalf of Rik Cordero, was presented with prize money provided by HBO and the Best Picture trophy.

“I’m shocked that we won, considering all of the amazing films on the roster this year.” said Cordero. “We created a simple heartfelt picture about the importance of family and I think it’s something audiences strongly connect with during these tough economic times. Even if you strip away all the heavy grassroots promotion we did, the film follows the same basic principle: Tell a good story”.

Three/21 Films thanks HBO, the New York International Latino Film Festival and congratulates the entire cast and crew of Inside A Change for winning the Best Picture Award. For more information about the festival award winners please visit here.

Video: Kanye West feat. Mr. Hudson – Paranoid (starring Rihanna) [Final Version]

Wednesday, June 3rd, 2009

That wasn’t even an old version, that wasn’t even the video. It was just a bunch of footage, like a timeline type of thing to show the idea. That was pre-rough cut.
- Nabil Elderkin, ‘Paranoid’ Director

IT HURTS ME TO SEE THE OLD AND VERY WRONG VERSION OF THE PARANOID VIDEO GET LEAKED ALL OVER THE NET WHILE I WAS ON AN 11 HR FLIGHT AND COULDN’T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. IT’S JUST FRUSTRATING WHEN THIS STUFF HAPPENS BECAUSE I REALLY CARE ABOUT THE PRODUCT AND SINCE VIDEOS NEVER GET PLAYED ANY WAY YOU MIGHT AS WELL TWEAK THEM AND MAKE THEM AS SPECIAL AS POSSIBLE. THE VERSION THAT GOT LEAKED FROM THE CAMERA PHONE LAST WEEK IS AT LEAST A LITTLE CLOSER TO THE FINAL PRODUCT. THANK YOU EVERYBODY FOR YOUR SUPPORT BUT THAT VIDEO WAS NOT UP TO MY STANDARDS.
- Kanye’s blog

Like this video version with new synths, etc in this version. Need this in CDQ, Ye.
