UPDATE: The Drake & Rich Home Quan “Rich Gang” leak from yesterday is actually this song that’s supposed to appear on OB’s new project, that OB played me last month. It’s still unclear what happened with the beat there.

A new single from OB’s project, which is coming soon. Y!

Produced by Boi-1da & 40, co-produced by Matthew Burnett.

Maino ft. Lil Durk – I Been (CDQ)

Wednesday, November 26th, 2014

The last version that leaked was rough and not the final album version. The homie Maino’s “KOB2: King of Brooklyn” is out on iTunes and other online retailers everywhere today.

Maino also appeared on Power 105′s The Breakfast Club yesterday to talk about what he’s been doing musically the last few years (if you read this site then you already know), he also addressed some allegations against him, what the NY music-industrial complex is like without him slapping up rappers and the reality TV show he had to stop filming because of the outside perception of all the chicks he’s tearing down (I love it).

Watch it below.

Rome Fortune – Pure (Prod. by Jacques Greene)

Tuesday, November 11th, 2014

A new track from Rome Fortune produced by the homie Jacques Greene, who is a Montreal producer whose new project After Life, After Party EP is out today on Lucky Me Records. Listen to his single “1 4 Me” below (FIRE).

Rome Fortune first came out at a SXSW show to support Jacques Greene, then I got an early confirmation from Rome’s management that the pair were working on something together, then recently JG was featured in Rome’s very wavy video for “One Time For” (prod. by Four Tet).

Jacques Greene’s last project the Phantom Vibrate EP, that came out earlier this year and may have been slept on by rap crowds, had a great Yung Gud remix to the single “No Excuse” (via Pitchfork) – embedded below.

In my opinion, Jacques Greene is one of the best producers out right now. Between everything from his signature sound to his R&B remixes, plus boasting an incredible live show, there isn’t much not to like about him. And he’s only 24/25 which is even more impressive. I’d like nothing more than to see him work with more rappers and I’m going to make it my goal to make sure it happens.

Check out my favorites from his Soundcloud below, which along with Kaytranada’s have been my life source since the beginning of the year.

Premiere: OG Maco – U Guessed It (Da-P Remix)

Wednesday, November 5th, 2014

I’ve mentioned producer/DJ Da-P in the past, but never in a post of his own. The uber-talented Montreal upstart and Soulection affiliate is back remixing the widely popular OG Maco hit after having some success earlier this year with his “Move That Dope” remix (off his project entitled Havok Highway, embedded below) and another joint I included under it called “From The Rooftop – Sniper’s Theme”. Him & the homie High Klassified also co-produced the title track of Mick Jenkins’ The Water[s].

Stream the full Havok Highway project after the jump.
