Everything y’all sayin is true but damn FYPM u talk about never giving up and everybody else got split personalities about every topic. It’s hard to make it but alot of ppl get weeded out cuz they don’t have the funds or connects. A lot ppl afraid to invest in themselves, take some setbacks to find out what works and what doesn’t. I’m not.

    this is true tho

this is what keeps the dream alive

SOMEONE is going to make it

so with hard work n dedication it could be you

    just think to yourself

all the local guys you know rapping trying to make it

how many of them are WORSE than trinidad james ?

  3. S.I.K.H Says:

props to y`all in your twenties getting shit accomplished.I was already a father at your age and had to differ alot of my musical aspirations.

  4. general glamour Says:

im thinkin he make close to 100k a year off rap or am i being very naive

    ^

not to ruin the moment but im pretty sure someone on here said sean p was working construction for awhile while recording an album

whatever you got to do tho

It ain’t about being worse than Trinidad at this point. Ppl got ADD nowadays. It’s about holdin ppls attention even if only for a moment

  6. Gob Bluth Says:

    Trinidad james >>

    don’t sleep

    it is entertainment after all

    keep doin ya thing

im jus saying for me like the shit is wack man .. to amount of rappers is fuckin crazy ..i remember being in high school in like 2005. Even back then it was like oh you rap oh shit let me hear somthin

now its like “oh you one of those guys” … shit is ridiculous

    IMO

the chances of starting your own business and making enough to live a comfortable lifestyle while bein your own boss

    is alot higher

than the chances of you being an indie rapper making enough to live a comfortable lifestyle while bein your own boss

Lets be honest tho niggas ain’t really sayin shit in they rhymes that ain’t already been said

at this point it’s all been done, better ten years ago so while a lot of you are capable rappers after the third listen you just realize you’ve heard it all before

    —————–

thats why a niggas flow, is, and always has been, the most important part of the art…

its what separates the great mcs, from the good and average and wack niggas..

    camel
    camron
    busta
    biggie
    jadakiss

    raekwon
    nas
    doom
    gza
    jay electronica

niggas all basically saying the same shit

but the delivery separates these niggas from the average rhyme peasant

and as far as the c-section mc’s, thats what separates CLR and A-1 from all the other c-section niggas that ever dropped a link

them 2 just have the audio glow

    FACT

  9. general glamour Says:

but lets pull the camera back for a minute trill

this is the film of life right ?

who are you shooting this film for ?

the haters ? the naysayers ?

the people who think you’re wasting your time n won’t be shit ?

if you’re truly shooting the film for yourself then you should only be concerned with what makes you happy

what makes you smile while you sip that orange juice n smooth that 10 o’clock shadow in the morning

    correct ?

if that means working construction while you save up to put out the 3rd installment of a mixtape series that perhaps 1000 people will know or care about

    so be it right ?

  10. Plug Says:

I dont think Trinidad James gets enough credit

    that S.A.F.E. mixtape was OK

but that was his first ever mixtape and basically his first time rapping

to make an OK mixtape at that level

  11. tHe kiD fRanKiE Says:

T James might be da woat but he got a lil bit of gems in dem skruggle bars

Heard a song feat him on da radio song was dope then here he come yellin droppin cloudy diamonds n cz’s all over da track

    But it was catchy

  12. F YOU PAY ME! Says:

    at this point

i rather make money OFF aspiring rappers

    than be an aspiring rapper

  13. Gob Bluth Says:

If i had to chose between a free Trinidad mixtape & a emilio rojas one u already know what it is

bars for the sake of bars is boring now, people just don’t want to admit it

  14. Free J Says:

@land – b got one dimensional flow syndrome. He can rhyme but he sounds the same on every song. His delivery, he monotone. He got bars but he ain’t sayin nothing crazy. A1 is tho. He got content delivery the voice… He jus needs some guidance

  15. general glamour Says:

It ain’t about being worse than Trinidad at this point. Ppl got ADD nowadays. It’s about holdin ppls attention even if only for a moment

it’s true but the shock value thing has diminishing dividends

if you’re only allure is shock value, you better have a way to keep shocking people

  16. Jackson7 Says:

i dont even get mad at niggas like trinidad jones
    or riff raff

    i just ignore them

all genres of music have always had coonery and over commercialized silliness

    nothing new …

its just more prevalent in rap than it used to be…

its the norm now, and not a novelty

  17. general glamour Says:

am i the only one who noticed that trinidad James doesn’t do full 16s on features

he does like 8 bars than turns into a bridge or shit talking

he literally ran out of bars

maybe he found a book of rhymes for the first mixtape or he fell out with his homie that ghostwrote

  18. King James Says:

Damn my nigga H Shellz doing more than B and he ain’t even a rapper

    Kill yourself brandon

  19. Jackson7 Says:

    @ free j

    i hear you Fam

all im saying is they both got undenialble raw talent

    critically speaking, that beats everything

AND …on foodstamps, as stated in a Source Magazine interview. This was around the time of Grand Theft Auto, “Rising To The Top” days.

…it’s safe to say the average underground rapper who actively tours makes 25K-30K a year after everyone takes their piece of the pie.

  21. Free J Says:

    @fypm – understood.

Trinidad James is a one in a million scenario. But to be real a few lines stood out cuz of how he said it and his appearance

  22. Harlem World: My hoe$ they do drug$ Says:

    meanwhile spitta sellin 40k

    but got raris, bentleys, ranges

billboard sayin he made 700k from tourin in 2011

    all from a lil fanbase

niccas need to pick up a book and learn the business

carve yaself a lil lane like spitta did

    if you serious

  23. F YOU PAY ME! Says:

    thats true

    however

being that i was in raised in a capitalist society

if i dont get that money .. the real money … or get close to it ima feel like i failed

i feel like in America .. you gotta PROVE to yourself that you can win at a high level

THEN you can fallback do the little shit that makes you happy .. move to an island smoke green all day be a philosopher all that extra shit lol

but if i did all that .. if i just worked construction and put out lil mixtapes wit a small following and never proved to myself i can win at a high level in the back of my mind i’d always be questioning myself like “damn…i really cant do it, im not built”

    success is competitive

its like if america was difficult puzzle and you see niggas that can put it together .. you see people at the top puttin that puzzle together .. im thinking shit if they can put it together i can put it together what the fuck makes me different ..if you just walk away from the puzzle you alwasy gonna be questioning yourself if your smart enough .. if you got what it takes to put it together

    that just me tho
