Listen to 1 Minute of Kanye’s “New Slaves” in CDQ

I was just wondering to myself last night how it’s possible that there’s no CDQ of “New Slaves” yet. To keep it all the way 100, this isn’t really CDQ, and we know this because it’s on Soundcloud, which converts everything to 128 Kbps, which doesn’t really count as CDQ. But this is the first taste we’re getting of the song that isn’t a rip from his SNL performance or one of the projections.

That being said, and as SPIN points out, this studio version is very scratchy and not at all the polished product you would normally expect from Mr. West. Which probably means it’s intentional.

yo that candy cigarettes jawn is really good. the production on tracks are laced with some cool instrument samples & vibrant drum patterns. b-ease doesn’t disappoint with his sing songy style over them. it fits the feel of the music fo sho.

my issues tho are i wish it was sequenced better to where the tracks seamlessly blend into one another. on some parts of the album it does but then there’ll be that track that jus ends flat & disrupts the smooth one played next or preceded. also…while the content & lyrics are there & relatively switch up enough to make the tracks interesting…i wish he played with more flows over some of the beats. maybe e’en approached a couple of them with a verbose air with some poignant ‘i’m that dude’ dancing. after a while all the self deprecating subject matter got kinda stoic to where i personally seen some of those bars coming. i get that it’s a theme piece but i wanted to hear some new & improved tekzilla, yo.

the nastiest tracks on there that i did bring back for a living tho are ‘norma’ ‘seeing stars’ & ‘ambiance’. gattdamn that ‘ambiance’ is toughness! top to bottom.

hopefully the homie will be in a better space by his next offering & jus spaz on tracks with intent to kill cause he can make songs. i give it 3.5 zoloft pills outta 5.
