Comparing 2 Pac and Rocky is pointless. They come from different eras, different generations. If you’ve been defining quality rap from a purely lyrical standpoint for years well, thats a bummer for you because thats not the only thing that makes for good music. Music can get through on force and vibe just as much as it can through complex wordplay. But you got a whole DECADE of complex wordplay, it was time for some balance.

Shit is kina old …but this is a direct effect of a flawed system.
Stems from slavery but muthafuckas don’t wanna hold white folks accountable for that shit.
You set someone free with no education, threats of violence if he does get educated. Kill their leaders for fighting for education now they turn to crime. Crime inflicts stress on the community and because of racism blacks don’t trust the police or the court system so now you have a lawless sub community.
Blacks fragmented fleeing to the burbs, the ones that stay go to school and either have to drop out or go so hard it breaks them and their social awkard and unfit for dating.
Black women don’t face the same challenges as black men, even if they’re poor the welffare systems supports them. Catch is YOU CAN’T HAVE A MAN LIVING IN THE HOUSE. So now you got a cat that had a seed with this broad and he can’t live there because he’s not working, he’s not working because he’s not educated and white tend to discard his attempts at employment. What’s left? Thuggin? Pimpin’? Moving bricks?
The problem with that documentary is they don’t even detail the black women’s history.
Dope money could have put her through college while she work that stripper pole. We don’t know. What we do know is that unrealistic expectations of the black man are set upon him in a world that realistically was constructed for him to lose.
The ones who WIN have to renounce their blackness in some sense…there ain’t that many strong successful black men out there. But last weekend alone I met about 25-30 whiteboys that were dumb as a box of bricks who will have the option to run this country and at least be GENERAL MANAGER of a Best Buy with no college education…high school education is some instances,
