    Be clear.

    In the late 80s / early 90s, Gary was the hardest place on earth.

    Highest murder rate.

    I attended a mosque there.

    Our Imam got popped in front of the mosque – think of the brutality – niggas was savages.

    No food markets, nothing.

    We had friends that refused to leave and we would attend BBQs there but everything was during daylight hours.

    You fuck around and try to go home at midnight and get caught in the wrong hood where you don’t know anybody and that was the end of your chapter. Niggas was legit savages – throw a old tire in front of your car so you swerve and then rob you.

    Praise Allah it never happened to me but could have – that time period niggas was wildin.

    I can’t lie, I ain been back in a minute. I know a lot of them people spread out to surrounding towns. Hopefully shit calmed down.

    But damn I will never forget that era.
