I’d say zero change at federal legalization/decriminalization, in the next 10 years…
Maybe weed sometime toward 2020… damn that sounds futuristic as fuck.
Shit is like cutting the military. Too many jobs are supported by criminalizing drugs. Whole towns are supported by the employment and revenue that prisons, and law enforcement jobs bring. Shit is the new unskilled labor.

LOL
$300 to borrow a beat.
$500 to buy the beat.
=====================
$500 a beat for some shit that was made on a illegally downloaded copy of fl studio is winning, especially if you a teenager
this aint 1995 mayne, a&r’s aint cutting $5k checks to random dudes with mpcs anymore
all these new producers is sellin beats on soundclick for pennies, from kane beatz to id labs to clams casino to cardo (although clams has stopped now)
why not when you have 100′s even 1000′s of them
^
All I’m saying is, it was nothing for a nigga to get $50k for a strong beat back in the day.
Or $100k.
Now niggas is getting 100 DOLLARS lol…that’s a precipitous decline.

90′s beats were 95% sample based, niccas would take 5k from the label for a placement and receive no publishing after that even had to chase rappers and label staff for years to finally get their check
a lot of the big name producers were in house producers too – swizz, dre, hitmen, dilla, mannie fresh, when its done in house you pay a lump sum for x amount of beats, not individually – which is why they all ended up eventually leaving to go solo
mannie still aint been paid, dilla died owing money

Problem with that is, when you become a big name producer the big name rapper is also gonna want the same price you giving these nobody ass rappers cause you thirsty to get on.
All I got to say is look at Pharrell’s yacht and look at Johnny Julliano.
JJ is hurtin and has BANGERS on his resume. Pharrell is EATING and has a steady paced catalog of work over almost 20 years.
This also has to do with the level of class this new bread has …they accept ANYTHING. Imagine if A$AP came out at the same time as Dipset?
Or if Franchise Boyz came out during Scarface’s era?
We let these hoe ass kids run wild, gave them everything our parents tried to give to us 70′s and 80′s babies. No it’s to the point these bitch as kids run the show and it’s cool to be young as you can.
Look at Danny Brown, he’s 32 years old …Pac was 25 to put shit in persepctive for you, A$AP is 25 years old a few years younger than me.
Diddy was 22-23 and if you’re old enough to remember you though him and Dame we GROWN ASS MEN where you were coming up.
Fuckin kids these days.

Nah man. See that just isn’t possible. Look at Harlem… niggas have American Apparels, H&M, grocery stores, restaurants. Actual shit people in a community can use.
See in Englewood, there isn’t shit. Nothing, a few guns and a few houses. Niggas can’t walk through Englewood in some fresh One’s let alone a pair of Camo JS Adidas.

producers really started eating when they started making hooks – peep game
neptunes, timbaland, jermaine dupri – all made sure they was all over the record adlibbing, singing, whatever it took to get that publishing check
puff knew what it was, swizz caught on eventually

I think it’d be cool to time travel to like ’89 and tell niggas. “You know in 20 years, this nigga in the candy stripe rugby rapping about “giving the leggityleggitylight to all my nubians” will be on the cover of Forbes, be cool with our first black president, be married to the most famous black woman in the U.S., own an NBA team, and make millions off of raps about being a Scarface style kingpin.”

That video on private prisons blew my mind. Damn. so many things in that..
Private corps giving jobs to these inmates for minimum wage and getting tax breaks receiving up to 40 % of their wages back. Insane profits.
As if the justice system wasn’t corrupt enough. Now these corps lobby to the prisons While lobbying for the laws to not be changed and stay in their favor.
Anyways, to hell with penny stocks, I need to see it I can get stocks in that private prison industry, only uphill from here

That sh-t was awful. And Jay looked awkward as a muf-cka. This is one year after he claimed he was moving big weight in 88? Seriously? What, he couldn’t dig into his stash for an extra $2 to make this video have a $5 budget? Jay was telling major duck tales about his exploits back then. As recently as 94 he had a low budget video (I believe “Can’t Get With That” had a $5,000 budget). Drug kingpins aren’t known for being frugal. Dude’s story doesn’t add up at ALL.

Not really a freestyle.. Just they verses off the record “The Originators”… Believe it or not, was a dope record when it dropped.
