Coworker of mine just lost his job, retirement, etc about 2 weeks ago. He’d been struggling with alcoholism for at least the last 12 years. Apparently he’d “forgotten” to mention his latest DUI during a recent routine background investigation to maintain his security clearance.

Earlier this week he decided to go for a joy ride after a few lonely cocktails at home. It was snowing and icy…

You know how this story ends.

    @Brick

Was the last DUI a last straw sort of thing? Or was his failure to report it what got him fired? Either way addiction has to be the worst. Niggas sober for 20+ years still at risk of fucking up at any time.

I used to have no sympathy for fiends of any kind but as I’ve gotten older and have seen people fight that shit it does make you feel bad for em.

Motherfucker burned up in his fucking van after he made it do a few somersaults off the highway and through a field. I assume the weight of starting over from scratch at 55 years old came crashing down on his drunken mind, causing him to incorrectly negotiate that final left hand turn.

Hit-boy is so trash as a rapper

    Damn.
I wonder if he crashed on purpose.
On some “Let’s see how they feel when I’m gone,” shit.
Guilt is a hell of a ride

  6. Black Says:

Uncle Sam doesn’t really care HOW you fuck up

    ^^^^^^

Alotta jobs are like that too as long as your crime isnt theft. You can all kinds of DUIs and assaults as long as you aint steal some shit or have felony convictions.

My cousin stole a whip 2 days after his 18th b day, got caught within 10 minutes, and could NEVER get a job in the financial sector because the FDIC cant insure him smh.

Don’t know his specifics, as he was a pretty quiet keep to himself type of guy. But yeah, there was definitely a history. As far as failing to report it goes, that wasn’t really the issue. The problem stemmed from him not admitting to his DUI when questioned about it during a routine/reoccurring background investigation that all of my coworkers go through every couple of years to maintain security clearances. It’s funny b/c Uncle Sam doesn’t really care HOW you fuck up in life, he just wants you to ADMIT that you fucked up when asked by the appropriate authorities. That always makes me laugh.

Same here. Didn’t care about addicts and fiends in my youth. But now that I’ve had the misfortune of witnessing the entire social scope of the effects of all sorts of addictions, my views have def changed.

It may have been on purpose, but I don’t believe it was out of spite. I’m almost certain that it was more of a guilt/depression episode gone terribly terribly wrong.

For some reason I always felt sorry for fiends. Since a young buck, I was giving change, as I got older I gave em a dollar. Whatever they do with it is on them.
