Prolly the last album in the same vein as Reasonable Doubt until American Gangster.
The perfect balance of street & pop, underground & commercial. I didn’t understand it then but old head Amp sees the science behind it now.
Been listening to it pretty religiously since the new year & for right now, it’s my fave Jay-Z album.

Nothing’s fucking with reasonable Doubt. You have too much on deck to contend with. As well as the wordplay and ethos he out into that album makes it unique to all albums leading up to it. It’s like a musical prime meridian of sorts. Nothing come out like it before and it surprisingly still holds its weight.
