ego trip’s Chairman Mao talks about a little known (to the general public at least) record convention that used to take place in the basement of the Roosevelt Hotel in NYC back in the 90′s. Back then, when it was still legally prudent to create sample based music, many of Hip-Hop’s most influential producers would make the pilgrimage there to spend their Sunday mornings digging through crates of obscure vinyl.
