I don’t know…Nas heavily implied on his on air meltdown that summer that the record was gonna target artists who he felt were making wack shit at the time, i.e. Cam, Nore, etc. Zone Out and Last Real Nigga Alive kinda support this.
With that said, I’m sure Columbia did what record labels do and demanded a single. Not to mention Nore attacking him with a flower pot at Home Depot. He re-thought it, and we got Nas’ third best album.
