Dawg, when they quoted my salary, I damn near cried. I threw a crazy number out there just fucking around because I didn’t think I’d get it. They went higher. Then gave me the scope of the project and I never looked back. On top of that, my Per Diem is $115/day ($805 weekly) ON TOP of my salary. Company vehicle/ insurance paid, cellular paid, and a progressive stock option with profit 401k rollover (and doubled up).

My commenting time is gonna be sliced in half from what it already is, which was sliced already. But I don’t care. I’m finally where I wanna be.

  6. Troubleshooter1900 Says:

I don’t know. They both bodied that beat. And it was hella unorthodox.

“Niggas wanna act loco. Hit em with numerous shots from the 4 4.”

  7. Troubleshooter1900 Says:

Jay-Z – Regrets is prolly my favorite Jay song.

That or Politics As Usual. Not even trying to be a purest, but old Jay is a lot better than new Jay.

Guess Who’s Back is another classic Jay joint.

    And Nigga Please.

  8. Troubleshooter1900 Says:

This new iTunes layout is the deal.

    Very true

I was so grateful they put the lyrics in the liner notes

“Sunday back to Gunplay. Most beef start over nothing. And get ended quickly because the of the art of repercussion.”

“I seen it. A G going out decent. Taking a plea agreement. Thinking he secret.”

It was crazy as hell how they seemed to literally mesh with the beat. They were using they wordplay and flow style to be another acoustic to the beat. They went up with the nodes and dropped down with the tropes

All in fractions of seconds. Some words seemed to end up on both sides of the beat. If that makes any sense.

    ========================

    Both classics.

I listen to Politics as Usual a lot. Real introspective shit

It’s like he’s saying fucked up the game is, but he wouldn’t want it any other way.

Then the hook going “this way, this way, this way again”

As if he can’t resist the game.

  14. Troubleshooter1900 Says:

Like Jaz going, “We.Are.Or.Ri.Gin.Ate.Tors” seemed to be apart of the beat itself as well as part of his verse.

    ^

Yeah. Then he’s telling you to it ain’t right but mocking you at the same time, very likely to seduce you to the game.

Like him saying “the prices of leathers is deeper than ever” and then saying “when it comes to this cheese, you like 3 Blind Mice”. As if to say, “yeah, shits high and I’m hustling harder, why aren’t you doing the same?”

That song got hella twists and turns and scrutinies on moral judgement of self/character.

I could write a book on that joint. A chapter at least.

  16. Troubleshooter1900 Says:

    Hol’up…

Why is this nigga spelling his album wrong? 2 t’s?

    The fuck?

That’s why RD is and will always be my favorite Jay album.

That whole album is a battle with self. It reminds me of the scene in The Nutty Professor when Eddie Murphy was trying to pull the slimmer personality out of him, and you see him and the other personality at the same time with the effects of both personalities playing out and battling for dominance.

    Wild shit.
