The RRU is the hub that processes all the data and streamlines it, and sends it wear it needs to go. Just to keep it simple.

It IS the router to the site. It splits the signals and sends them to where they need to go for processing. Whether its data, LTE, 3G, 4g, reDI, EVDO or etc.
The plexers are built into the cabinet. We use internal and external. One for processing and one to handle the coding.

Im at work today setting up pipes for FEMA… I mostly deal with Optical networks, but I respect analog… its more difficult to work and measure frequencies than it is to run patterns over a network.
