city council and local elections carry far more of a tangible impact on your day to day than elections at the federal level
^
People say this a lot but it’s only true to an extent
Universal Health Care is going to affect your most vital asset: your health !
And Bush took us into two wars and almost bankrupted our country for generations
Can your congressman do that ?
November 6th, 2012 at 2:05 pm
The President also selects the Supreme Court
Who aren’t that important I guess
They just decide abortion, civil rights, cloning issues, campaign spending
Can your congressman do that ?

Alderwoman for Brownsville
——-
Its Bronzeville and I take it you’re talking about Pat Dowell? Yeah she can kick rocks.
Cosign your disdain for the vast majority of Chicago City Councilmen/women
but to address your statement earlier about me not voting being dumb, you said yourself that Illinois goes Democrat er’ election cycle, I could have 1000 young negus write in Radric Davis on the ballot and Obama would still take the pop vote in Chicago. Stop at 5.

If you are not provider a better alternative
You’re just pointing out spills on the ground
Yea we know it’s not perfect it’s human but it is the best we have and it’s working and provided us with a lot of benefits
Other countries STILL base their platforms on the Constitution and our Bill of Rights

Yes voting solidifies your commitment to this democracy and system
But if you’re paying taxes aren’t you just as guilty ?
You are funding all the wars and policies of a man and government you DIDN’T choose
November 6th, 2012 at 2:11 pm

but because he has PROGRESSIVE policies its 2012 , American needs progressive policys and law simple and plain
Romney is the same ol shit
—–
If you’re really about supporting a candidate who’s progressive on social issues, then why Obama, when Gary Johnson and Jill Stein are leaps and bounds ahead of him in that regard?
Cosign the Romney slander though

This
But I also think Obama is better for the economy
He is for the middle class
All stable advanced societies require a stable middle class
Romney wants to cut cut cut till we are Greece
November 6th, 2012 at 2:15 pm
speaking of detroit…
tell me why i seen on the news that they’re renovating all those empty buildings downtown to cater to technological upstarts for a new silicone valley so corporations can bloom & totally take over uptown real estate prospects.
that’ll be the biggest act of gentrification yet next to chicago.

Chief,
Simple Question
Would Detroit have been better off or lesser off if Obama didn’t save the Auto Industry ?
November 6th, 2012 at 2:20 pm
Chief Ali Says:
November 6th, 2012 at 1:19 pm
and for the record i’m not voting at all
both candidates are fuckniggas of the highest degree, proxy standins for corporate interests and the international banking cartels
elections stopped being important decades ago. ROFFLE at niggas thinking elections would hold the same weight once women and blacks were allowed to vote.

November 6th, 2012 at 2:21 pm
obama is not for the middle class. All he did was cut taxes by $3600 on middle income families. Well, on average in this economy salaries are down $5000 a year across the board. The average work week is 34 hours. Sounds like France 10 years ago. This dude is not for the middle class. He spins statistics to make it look like he is, but he really ain’t. Rich people are still rich as fuck, middle income people are taking a huge hit, and poor people are still poor.
November 6th, 2012 at 2:22 pm
LOL “Jill Stein”
She couldn’t even raise a million bucks.
No-sign voting for a candidate whose campaign budget is less than my net worth.
November 6th, 2012 at 2:22 pm
1.Because gary and jill stein have 0 chance of winning in this political climate and voting for them in a way would be supporting romney
2. Jill stein and gary both have white skin when i have the option to vote for a progressive black man with 2 black kids and a black wife why would i choose otherwise?

Would Detroit have been better off or lesser off if Obama didn’t save the Auto Industry ?
—–
do you really think that if things went the other way and McCain was in office, he’d let the Auto Industry fail?
I see what you’re saying, but that was an issues where mogs pretend to disagree to satisfy the party line, but concessions would’ve been made.
Same way Obama based his campaign on him being a peaceful president and not a warmonger, those drone strikes taking out thousands of innocent folks in Pakistan say he was lying

“The assault by mainstream media stems from an opinion article that Romney wrote for the New York Times on Nov. 18, 2008. At the time, General Motors and Chrysler were facing the threat of bankruptcy as sales plunged and losses piled up.
The article was indeed titled, “Let Detroit Go Bankrupt,” but the headline was written by a Times editor. (The New York Times itself says Romney gave the piece the title, “The Way Forward for the Auto Industry.”) Nowhere in Romney’s piece did the phrase appear.
Instead, Romney opposed a federal bailout and said the automakers should go through an accelerated bankruptcy process, perhaps with government assistance. Romney suggested the government could provide post-bankruptcy financing and guarantee auto warranties so customers would not be afraid to buy GM or Chrysler cars.”
