Kevin Martin can score points though, so they will try have him be a direct replacement for Harden.
Harden is an idiot though, smh.

Unless Harden gets 80 million for 5 years, then I respect his hustle.

I’m shaky about us beating the Lakers this year now.But Lamb will be a Harden type player, and two first rounders and high second rounder set us up for the future.

This is an ill remix concept. Obvious but ill nonetheless.
Kudos to the A&R who pulled this off.

People on Twitter are going HAM with the ‘this is the best move the Lakers have ever made’ joke tweets.
Truthfully though I think losing Harden will hurt OKC quite severely, the Lakers are now the favourites out West imo, if they weren’t already.
The draft picks are good also but OKC are set for the future with the current squad they have, if anything they need some veteran players in there instead of relying on rookies and young players. Veterans would help come playoff time.

ROFL he is a clown though I mean he had an opportunity to play with Durant/Westbrook/Ibaka during the prime years of their careers, and if he’s only gonna get 8 million more over the 4 years then fuck him
October 28th, 2012 at 10:36 am
80 million over 5 years with the Rockets > 52 million over 4 years with OKC > 60 million over 4 years with the Rockets

being a franchise player on a mediocre team > being the 6th man and third option on a contending team
October 28th, 2012 at 11:29 am
OKC gonna miss Harden’s playmaking ability though.
Kevin Martin is good, but he’s Kevin Durant light. volume shooter and not much else.
October 28th, 2012 at 11:34 am
Jeremy Lamb can play
Kevin Martin is 18 – 20 plus pts per game for his career… son been a shotmaker all his life… reggie miller 2.0..
plus the Thunders get 2 1st round picks and a 2nd..
for a 6th man who averages 16 a game and choked in the finals and is starting to get talked about as someone who is too caught up in the after hours scene..
smh… Houston got raped … again..
word to Jeremy Lin..
Thunders STAY winning
October 28th, 2012 at 11:37 am
OKC aint give a shit…
they could put me, Pigpen, plug, S.I.C.K., CLR, & cOLD in the rotation with Durant, Westbrook, Ibaka & Perkins and STILL make the NBA final four..
they dont need no overrated black hasidic jew 6th man

kevin martin is constant movement on the court… running circles around picks along the baseline all night… underrated slasher and ballhandler…wears niggas down
he just been on very shitty teams…
he ALWAYS give the knicks fits…

this. tho
cant blame Harden..
his agent did his job… son been making sacrafices for OKC from day 1… being 6th man and whatnot… he had to look out for his career and family and future.at some point.. just cause Westbrook and Durant took lower than market deals dont mean he has to… them other two niggas gonna get paid regardless… this might be Harden’s only chance at a max deal…
get money, Black Santa

The nigga can’t stay healthy though. And he doesn’t play defense. He is a better shooter.Worse rebounder and playmaker. But they’re probrably going to be able to pick up a lottery center and let go of Perkins overpaid ass so well se how shit plays out.
October 28th, 2012 at 11:50 am
I agree with the get money sentiment, but then again does Harden want to go down in history as one of the hundreds of well paid NBA players that never won a Championship?
He was still gonna get paid in OKC, plus if he kept it up there’s a chance he could get another max contract in 4 years. I think he jumped ship too early.
Instead he’s gone to a worse team where he’s gonna get paid more and be ‘the man’ on the team but we’ll see how that works out when they are losing and fighting for the 6th/7th/8th seed in the West for the foreseeable future.
October 28th, 2012 at 11:52 am
The nigga can’t stay healthy though

^
yep.
reporters and fans keep hollering about how Harden should’ve sacrificed a couple M’s for the sake of keeping the team together and competing for a title…
that logic is for older niggas, who done already had a max deal or two…Ray Allen, Rashard Lewis type niggas who just trying to grab a ring on their way out the door.
Harden said fuck all that, I need this bread and this franchise tag up front. we can discuss championships and all that on the back end.
I respect it.
October 28th, 2012 at 11:53 am
We dunno how much of a leader Harden is. Dude is probably just gonna end up another overpaid player that you’d want as a secondary or third option on a team, not the first.
Word to Iguodala, Rashard Lewis etc etc

when it comes to having a career and family and future financial stabilty and security, them rings dont mean diddly shit to them niggas…thats all sensationalist talk..
them niggas end up pawning them rings and trophies anyway, when hard times kick in…
fuck fame, gimme paper
niggas like Joe Johnson and Larry Johnson sleep well at night knowing they bills is paid for life, with no rings
Lawrence Taylor got rings and Hall Of Fame statues, and he a broke, registered sex offender
its not a game

that’s just the politically correct thing for players to say, and for basketball purist journalists to harp on.
max contracts > rings
ask Adam Morrison, who was recently waived from the Portland Trailblazers, if he would have rather had the same career as John Stockton…or if he’s cool with his current status as a basketball journeyman sitting on two rings from his stint with the Lakers
October 28th, 2012 at 11:59 am
The league is filled with overpaid players. The money some of these guys get paid is laughable, no wonder the league was in financial trouble.
Gilbert Arenas $111 million.
$111 million.
Ridiculous.

the league was NEVER iin “financial trouble”
they just wanted a new mor favorable Collective Bargaining Agreement
LMAO @ the NBA being in “financial trouble”
thats negotiating tactics… niggas is beyond billionaires..
ask James Dolan and Jerry Buss
the players are making what the market bears..whose fault is that?
the owners who offer and pay those contracts..
no one else
cant blame Gilbert Arenas and sharp agents for going after what the market will easily bear.
binness is binness
October 28th, 2012 at 12:04 pm
It all depends on the contract Harden will get in Houston. Like I said if it’s 5 years and $80 million then I respect it.
But if it’s for the sake of $8 million, $2 million a season over a 4 year contract, then I don’t respect it. These guys have endorsements and all that shit. Taking $8 million less over the course of 4 years is not THAT much to these guys.

if i was an NBA owner, I’d advocate for incentive based contracts as opposed to fully guaranteed joints. dudes like Arenas, Rashard Lewis, get these huge deals based off potential, and become the definition of complacent before the ink even dries on the contract.
of course the players union won’t stand for it, and they’ll be an inevitable lockout.
but the owners can weather a work stoppage longer than the players can. and the overall product would be greatly improved when niggas realize they didn’t have that safety net of a guaranteed paycheck coming in every two weeks.
October 28th, 2012 at 12:06 pm
I think they need to throw PJ3 into the deep in and see if he can swim. This niggas basically Durant without the shooting touch. But he is a lot stronger and has a post game. And they can go into a hyper athletic lineup.
Westbrook-Durant-PJ3-Ibaka-Perkins
That’s be crazy if the average height of their players was like 6’8 and all of them could run besides Perk.
October 28th, 2012 at 12:06 pm
I mean when you’ve made 52 million, you’re rich as fuck anyway that extra 8 million would of course make a difference but it’s not as if he’s gonna be struggling to pay the bills.
Also he’d have the chance to recoup that money by signing elsewhere in the future. I think he just jumped ship too early that’s all I’m saying. Barring serious injury chances are he’ll sign another max contract in his playing career.

Bottom line, if Harden had shown up in the finals, the extra M’s may not have been an issue to the Thunder’s front office. That 54 was accurate for what he put in.
