Video: Just Blaze x Media Gasface – Breaks, Bread & $100 Bills

Just tells a fascinating story about how he met the guy who wrote Bobby Glen’s “Sounds Like A Love Song”, which he sampled for Jay-Z’s “Song Cry”, while the guy was driving him somewhere in LA and recognized his name on the paperwork. He also speaks on other artists that he’s sampled that he later met or spoke to and how they they benefited from the proceeds of the Hip-Hop tracks that resulted. Finally he speaks on the influence of esteemed composer Galt McDermot and some of the many artists that sampled his work. Gasface will soon release the documentary, Looking For Galt, check out the trailer after the jump.

RJD2 had a nice run for awhile, he had that instrumental album and was big on that indie wave. I thought dude was gonna do big things, then he just kinda disappeared. Copywrite used to be “alright”…Jakki too…but I haven’t checked for any of these dudes for like 6 years.
