People like to pretend its this whole indie movement and to an extent that’s true
But KAWS has money. As does the dudes who invented kid robot etc.
I would imagine that they have stable families who help them get started. I try a bit with sculpting its just in order to mass produce you need like 10gs and a market.
Plus I’m not in NY or anything where those types of things get recognized.
I would love to tho. That’s one of my goals

I really think there is a major reason why you never see many black artists make it into Main stream.
I know some and I’m one, but I feel like white folks like black culture when re appropriated by white artists.
