Chris Lighty Dead After Apparent Suicide
Damn, what a tragedy.
Via the NYDN:
Hip-hop mogul Chris Lighty died Thursday morning after apparently shooting himself in the head in his Bronx apartment, sources told the Daily News.
Lighty, 44 — a longtime manager of 50 Cent, Diddy, Ja Rule and Mariah Carey — was found dead inside his South Riverdale apartment about 11:30 a.m., police sources said.
It appeared he died from a bullet to his head, sources said. A gun was recovered next to his body.
Law enforcement sources said Lighty — who divorced his wife, Veronica, last year — may have been dealing with financial struggles, including owing about $5 million to the IRS.

I know at least in Europe/Latin America for medschool you just take classes that are aplicable to being a doctor i.e physiology/nutrition/epidemiology/etc.
and in the states you have to take all sorts of electives that professionals even tell you aren’t relavent to your actual career
I’m sure this is applicable for non-science based degrees too

Why is everyone taking the cops’ word for it that this was a suicide? The cops claim he shot himself *outside* of his apartment. I’ve never heard of someone shooting themselves right in front of their crib. I’d be more inclined to think someone shot him, left the gun there, and the NYPD is too lazy to investigate this as a homicide (not to mention any cop in the Bronx has a motivation to keep the murder rate “low” by classifying any death by gunshot they can as anything other than a homicide).

The story now reads:

Who steps outside the crib and shoots himself in broad daylight? Suicide is the kind of thing that people usually do in private, not in broad daylight in the middle of their hood.
