if they cared more about his actual album , then a tweet about a couple shitty songs on a shitty album being ghostwritten
then he wouldnt be moving 19k in his 3rd week
^^
It’s really shameful.
One of the last of the old guard who hasn’t sold-out his artistry to buy into the young crowd’s expectations, puts out a high quality record, and niggas don’t support. And yet niggas still go on and on about “why don’t he just work with Preemo & Just Blaze & so-and-so”.
I bet if he dropped that Preemo LP or Illmatic 2 next week that shit would brick like a mf’er.
when Untitle came out Nas was running around with NIGGER t-shirts talking all this self-righteous shit like he was the conscience of hip hop personified. but the ideas wasn’t even his own my nigga, neither was most of the execution of those ideas.
^^
Don’t blame that man for what you projected on him. And how are most of the ideas not his own when between stic. and JE, they collaborated on four songs?
Are we just gonna act like there weren’t 10 other tracks on that album?
^
so nas wasn’t running around talking about the concept of the album, the meaning of the title and all that? this was a statement album. Nas’s statement album. foh talkin about what “i projected on him” this is how the nigga presented himself leading up the shit. stop it.
in the stic interview he says he was flown into to work on the whole album. he was creditd for three far as i know, JE for one, but dream hampton said she heard 6 reference tracks. not all credit gets put in the liner notes. c’mon dude.
“Hed say, Heres a concept, and we just started building on it. Id play some tracks, I made some shit on the spot. Some stuff I produced, like the Untitled song, Nas hit me two days before his deadline. He said, I need some shit about [Louis] Farrakhan. Hook me up with a track, nigga. [Laughs] I did something that I felt, I wasnt sure if he was going to fuck with it or not. I sent it to him, I hit him late that night, and he was like, Its done and mixed.”
what this sound like to you my nigga? niggas is in denial like a bunch of females.
eskay is a propagandist in this matter because it garners more page impressions & his audience buys into it. i know you don’t really believe he’s a nigga of respectable journalistic repute when he takes shots while being partial to some of the artist he post.
he a dweeb in a position of power. thas it.
only niggas that don’t buy into eskay tactics are niggas that offer him plane tickets for the fade…
The nas album is water in the desert. It puts Jay on the defensive, details why nas may be the goat and is number two in his canon. dream overstated what happened on that mediocre, distracted album because the cat she was responding to was articulating the critique LIG made implicit. A lot of sound and fury really over very little. All music is collaborative. It is only freaks of nature like J. Dilla and Prince that can make songs or albums all by themselves.

he chose to sign with dame dash music group instead of rocafella
^ bleek, young chris, freeway, and peedi stayed close to jay and it didn’t get them anything. if you ask me, jay was trying to start with a clean slate post-roc-a-fella. he probably wouldn’t have even rolled with ye if ye didn’t get his own buzz started with “through the wire” (complete with shooting the video on his own dime).

best thing to do if youre not an eminem or jay-z level artist
is get yourself a cult following like gucci, lil b, currensy
i want nas to win, one of my favorite emcees
but these fans aint shit!
