One day in the future you won’t harbor that same resentment and all you’ll have are memories when you think of your pop. Paying your last respects is the right thing to do. It will make sense 10-15 years from now.

^I hear you. And thank you. No melt, but you should know some of the shit I’ve lived through (niggas gone ether me): I’ve been homeless, *expletive*, robbed, and a slew of other shit bruh. The details will turn your stomach. And I often thought God wasn’t the best man to have in my corner. Duke left me and moms. When I used to ride my bike over to see him when I was 8, while niggas was dying in Englewood in its most trying time, he’d duck out the door and leave me with embarrassed uncles and aunts. I told him what happened to me when I was 14, he hung up before I could finish the story while I was balling my damn face out. Told moms he’d be there in court for my honor KNOWING he wasn’t coming. I dealt with it all on my own. Even tried again when he had a series of brain surgeries. I was there and he’d blank stare at me. And I look JUST like this nigga. I was sitting there in his hospice care last week and thought about unplugging all his machines on some ‘other’ shit. Kevorkian shit. Graduations sent tickets, no show. I grew up dirt poor. His family and the niggas I got to see tomorrow, all Upper Middle Class to Upper Class. Real shit. Doggie, I’m almost 6 figures in and STILL can’t really relate. Them niggas looked down on me and still do. So, for one last charitable merit for this nigga, I gotta show up just to have noses turned up on me and looked down on, even though I came this far.
I feel you though. No guts, no glory. And I got to meet with these assholes that don’t give a damn, still.
That ain’t all, but sheit, I’ll go and see the man off to Hell. That’s the least I can do then.
