July 10th, 2012 at 1:50 pm

July 10th, 2012 at 1:52 pm

July 10th, 2012 at 1:56 pm
The fact that Ghostface can rock a durag under the fitted and a plain white t or polo sized at XXXXXXXL down to his knees [ll] in 2012 and nobody says a goddamn thing just proves that he’s the GOAT
July 10th, 2012 at 1:56 pm

Frank Oceans album is excellent.
^
from what i’ve heard the production and harmonies are on point.
problem is his lyrics are mad cheesy, sound like high school poetry. there’s a big difference between lyrics and poetry. and his voice is on that whiny shit that the weeknd, drake, and all these new niggas on, can’t fuck with it man.
July 10th, 2012 at 2:07 pm
After one listen. Frank’s Older work ( beofre the scandal) > His Current album.
Subject to change tho

Alot of the songs this dude has sound exactly the same..on the same album..
and sometimes he sounds like a mix between musiq soulchild and Mario
still good though
July 10th, 2012 at 2:18 pm
Nosign his influence, but Ghostface is definitely in the “most consistently brolic catalogue” convo. Quality-wise, I don’t believe it’s possible for him to slack on an album – lyrically, musically, sonically, etc.
July 10th, 2012 at 2:19 pm
still yet to hear the funboys album, no homo
but if pharrells on it, its most likely an instant classic
July 10th, 2012 at 2:19 pm
Whatever happened to that guy Juice(?) from California?
July 10th, 2012 at 2:21 pm
ghostface aint even write his best 2 albums
stop it!
he only made it worse by denying it, a couple tracks on the innanets of him using lord superbs verses only confirmed it
July 10th, 2012 at 2:21 pm
Gays make good music.
I have no explanation for this.
It just is.

yea maybe thats my issue. he’s being billed as something new but apart from some ill production dude seem like the same production-line style rnb we been getting for the past decade plus. the most unique thing about it is how much he relied on the internet and his alignment with odd future. he’s probably a better song writer than he is a performer.
July 10th, 2012 at 2:30 pm
*Harlems it up*
Cormega wrote Illmatic, IWW, AND Ether.

That was the pseudo r&b project, right? Lol, honestly I consider that the same level as Mobb’s 1st album – I don’t even acknowledge it. But fair is fair.

Nah man, you gon’ have to back that up.
All I pull up are endless videos/interviews of a dusty, disgruntled Superb getting at Ghost and Rae on some Jaz-O shit.

and bulletproof wallets and pretty toney were both at least 50% ill.
July 10th, 2012 at 2:38 pm
He wrote hooks, or songs? That doesn’t make any kind of sense to me…lyrics are the same as they always were and have always been.
*blindfully stans*

^ thats the one. Ghost cleared this up long time ago. Superp was present in some studio sessions. And all them would bounce ideas off each other… “like it sound ill when you say it like this” or “say it this way instead”…
the same chemistry when Dre made the Chronic…

And I would never claim otherwise. Ironman & Supreme are classics, and the remainder of his catalogue hasn’t strayed much in terms of overall quality. That was my only point. I’d never say that the best Ghost LP could ever rival the best Nas or Jay.

also factual, I just hold Nas & Jay-Z in higher esteem considering their albums got praised outside of a larger circle than just east coast or “real hip hop” fans
it’s harder to make music that appeals to a broader range of fans

I don’t even think Franks taking as much from neo-soul and RnB.If you really listen to his lyrics,he’s much more like early Police than anybody in RnB.Like Synchronicity era.
