I could care less about the “breadcrumbs” or “gems” you attribute to Ridley Scott. I fux with the Alien films, however I’m not on that fanboy shit where I can’t have an objective opinion.
I’ve actually read up on what the film attempts to ask, the story is nothing more than a watered down interpretation of the ancient astronaut theory that posits humanity owes its origins to engineers who came to this earth to create working class organisms based on their own likeness.
Dumb niggas rely solely on cinema for their insight, gems and breadcrumbs, others research history and its distortions for a broader, more enriched perspective.

as Why? stated, there were way too many holes in the story and the overall pacing of the film felt rushed. there was no buildup of suspense, and the tension and dread present in the other Alien flicks was missing from this joint, which is more disappointing b/c it was advertised as a SciFi thriller of sorts.

But the nigga said from the beginning that it’s its own movie. It wasn’t supposed to be Alien. Maybe the marketing was the problem. I dunno.
As for plot holes, I didn’t leave the theater asking any questions the movie didn’t intend on presenting. Everyone I’ve heard say this follows it up with a question that is actually explained during the film if they had been looking for it.
I’d ask what you thought but I don’t want to spoil it for anyone if they still want to see it.
But either way, go see that Art of Rap. Not the best doc ever but it’s a cool watch.

the movie wasn’t about “the engineers” creating working class organisms…they were trying to create a weapon, we were the weapon, we’re a mistake.
the “goo” itself is what kicked started evolution
in greek mythology prometheus stole fire from the gods and gave it to man to make us equal with the gods…he paid for it with torment from humans
the “sacrificial” engineer set if off on earth, notice he didn’t have gills like the others, he was able to breath without a space suit. he was PROMETHEUS
it was history repeating itself, THEIR GOD gave them knowledge and free will, and they tried to reach the pinnacle of existence by creating us a WEAPON
the goo was “EVOLUTION” itself, transforming everything it touches,
they engineers we’re trying to spread out in the universe and that’s what was in the pods.
instead the goo created prehistoric xenomorphs and facehuggers which KILLED the engineers, WHO WE SEE In 1979 alien at the begining.
xenos are half engineers, half facehuggers, we’re half engineers half what ever elements are on earth….humans are destructive, and so are their other creations which are scattered throughout the universe…they were trying to destroy their creations.
the doctor figured that out, and her and the android set out to find our true creators, cause the engineers were created in THEIR god’s image.
smh and then theres the gems, free-will, religion, sexuality, love, all plots within the movie.
that was a bomb ass movie PERIOD

david’s and chalize’s story is a plot within a plot
two robots with different views looking for their father’s acceptance

That was all speculative though. It was the most logical conclusion after Capt. Janek said that, but there was no explicit proof that that was their intention.

My main problem with Prometheus was that it was too predictable and the script writers would one moment not explain something and then another moment have the characters have some major epiphany in order for the story to continue to make sense and just made the characters seem to lack common sense. Other than David, the android, and Elizabeth Shaw you could tell not much time was put in to making the other main characters interesting. Oh and that old man makeup did not help the film either. The visuals were good but for a Ridley Scott film was not enough.
