LF: is anyone else concerned about the systematic erosion of our society’s ability to communicate (ie: reading, writing, speaking) on a basic human level?

I’m just thinking of the long term effects on the human race. Basic writing is barely taught, never mind cursive. We are very well on our way to an entire generation of humans who will lack the ability to write a sentence on a piece of paper. So, at that point, what happens when the power goes out? Especially considering the demise of physical books with the advent of electronic press. Basic human interaction is at an all time low with the advent of “social networking”. And auto fill, autocorrect, and spell check has the possibility of rendering us illiterate.

No. It’s just our preferred method of communication has shifted.
Look around. The internet is full of hieroglyphs.
