^ She was responding to Flex’s statement along the lines of “if you think you didn’t sell this (last) time…(with her second record)” when I’m pretty sure she sold more than any other artist on the bill that released an album this year, plus getting banned on Hot 97 (Flex’s implied threat) wouldn’t hurt her sales that much at this point IMO. Flex never recanted that statement, but it made no sense.

^ Rosenberg didn’t mention Nas or Lauryn Hill when he made his statement. He said “I’m not talking to the fans who are going to be singing Starships later on, I’m talking to the real hip-hop fans”. Where Rosenberg went wrong was calling Starships “bullshit” when that brand of rap is what rules Hot 97 at the moment. Acknowledging that there are different types of fan bases in hip-hop is self-evident IMO…yeah, somebody who adores the hook on Starships could totally not give a f–k about the latest Schoolboy Q mixtape, that’s self-evident to me…the only point of confusion is Rosenberg calling Asap Rocky “real hip-hop”….I don’t necessarily think of breakbeats and graf when I hear the kid Asap, but okay, whatever Pete…
