Honestly, when Wale’s 1st CD came out I thought dude had every reason to win. He had bars, he had subject matter that MATTERED, he had strong co-signs, he had Lady Gaga, he knew who his core demographic was, he had decent production, he was on a major label.

I just don’t understand where it all went wrong, BESIDES the fact that Interscope undershipped his album like a muhfucka. But I think he should’ve stuck to his previous formula – cuz it seems like he’s “winning” now (features, radio, acknowledgment) but I can only imagine what the next 3 years will look like for dude.
