There was still some hope in Izzo.
ESOM was kind of bitter to me. Not as uplifting or inspirational.

Precise, it was perfect for a single imo.
It had all the greasy jay talk for the hood, and the upbeat little hook for the masses.
This makes me realize, the masses don’t give a fuck what the song says (unless its on some Juicy shit, nh) as long as the hook is stadium status.
Teachers, Principals, baby mommas were all diddy boppin when this song came on during school rallies and shit.

Hard Knock Life is the epitome of that shit.

Izzo & ESOM were both created in the Hard Knock Life lane.
Jay has his formulas just like any other successful artist.

jay-z is that dude but damn, he seems so cold at times
no homo

Izzo is a lane all in itself.
You heard Izzo bumping, that shit instantly makes you wanna pour liquor on bitches
Izzo came outta no where one friday at school during lunch time, they didn’t see me at 5th period, I was highed up at popeyes with friends
The song just puts you in a good mood
Kanye blacked out on that beat.

I mean the nigga does have a history of doing some coldblooded shit. Otis was the 1st time he looked like he was having fun.

on hkl 3 theres a real short verse called hova song
and when you really hear the lyrics, you pretty much understand jay-z mindset/character
the fact that its so short makes me think he just had to get that shit off his chest
nicca sounded like he had tears in his eyes
or like he was having argument with someone
he wanted to be acknowledged x accepted so bad, must have been eating him up inside – no homo
no label would sign him, pops skipped out on him, some saying he would always be in biggies shadow,
nicca said fuck you to his own father for the whole world to hear – not on some shock value shit either
like you could tell he meant that

That’s the character trait I find the most unappealing.
He’s a front runner with a huge ego who clearly feeds on the accolades & adoration to the point he seeks it out.
Nas never came off like that, even when he was selling records.
It always seemed like he was really doing it “for the culture” and Jay was doing it to say he did it.
