I think some of the underground/blog rap from New York could use a lil more mainstream light & I’m still waiting for “The Next One”, the new cat who’s gonna follow in the tradition of legends like Big, Hov & Nas and drop gems as well as hits and classic albums.
But again, times change and the reduced focus on lyricism & emphasis on melody in Hip-Hop means that we might never get the next Nas & a kid like ASAP Rocky could very well be the next Jay-Z, for this generation.
I’m still waiting to see if 50 can ever get his swagger back, will The Dips ever reclaim their spot, will the Lox ever put out Live, Suffer, Celebrate?
Can the next Jay-Z album possibly suck (or be more successful) then BP3?

Kanye West – Graduation >>>
I forgot how good that album was
^^^^
Good album. But even though Ye had been going for the crossover since day one, this album felt like he was really pushing it. Like he had this 3 album arc in his head & Graduation was his Thriller.
It’ll always be Late Registration for me. College Dropout & Graduation can fight it out while 808′s & MBDTF make out in the corner of the room.
