Videos: The Funk League ft. Sadat X – On & On

Thursday, December 15th, 2011

The Paris production duo, The Funk League, is comprised of Hugo and Soulbrother Suspect. Together, as The Funk League, they are preparing to release their album “Funky As Usual” on January 24th via Favorite Recordings. “Funky As Usual” was recently released in France, but the worldwide release is January 24th.

“Funky As Usual” is ode to the golden age / boom-bap hip hop era which features some of that era’s elite including Large Professor, Diamond D, Sadat X, A.G., Gift of Gab and others. The Funk League brings back the SP 1200 sound without sounding outdated and throwback.

In preparation for the release, today marks the US release of the official music video for the song “On & On” featuring Sadat X. Over a feel good funk inspired track, Sadat X rewinds the clock and brings back some of the older times in NY and in hip hop history. The video was directed by Les Lapins de L’Espace.
